Inside-Me Project kicks off

The new and interesting Inside-Me Project, which encourages students to be kind and take an active role in learning, was launched at Hoa Sen University on November 21. The university’s General Education Programme, in co-operation with Psychological Counselling Centre, is carrying out the programme.

The programme provides assistance to the university students and helps them have a deeper understanding of themselves and other people, leading to personality development and “living kindly and learning in an active manner”.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Giau, lecturer of the General Education Programme and the project’s coordinator, said that in addition to knowledge and career skills, Inside-Me aims to enhance students’ E.Q. (emotional quotient/intelligence) and help students face the challenges in their lives.

In the project, a small group of 15 students under enthusiastic guidance from an expert will learn ways to discover their potential and strengths through step-by-step understanding and controlling of their thoughts, emotion and behaviours as well as effectively dealing with problems in their lives.

Weekly activities for the groups taking part in the project are scheduled on Thursday each week, starting in the 2015-2016 academic year.

In the first two years, four sessions on self-awareness, self-respect improvement, emotional development and effective problem solutions will be organised.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Do Sy Cuong, the university’s vice rector, said that “Inside-Me” was one gift which university staff want to present to students.
