Hoa Sen University participates in the seminar “AI in Curriculum Design and Course Development”

In today’s digital era, technological advancement has become a driving force for sustainable development across many sectors, with higher education witnessing the strong rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Teaching and learning activities are entering a new chapter, where AI is integrated into curricula as a “strategic companion,” contributing to enhanced educational quality and optimized teaching methods.

On September 4, 2025, the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation – VNU HCM, organized an online seminar on the theme “AI in Curriculum Design and Course Development.” The event was held in a virtual format, attracting over 2,000 participants from nearly 400 connection points nationwide, including university leaders, lecturers, and educators from various educational institutions.

Educators from Hoa Sen University attended the seminar “AI in Curriculum Design and Course Development.”

Within the framework of the seminar, the keynote speaker, Dr. Vu The Dung – Founder & CEO Thinking School and former Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, delivered a presentation that covered many practical and insightful topics:

  • Engagement: Exploring participants’ levels of AI usage
  • Chat GPT Statistics: Impressive user data and revenue growth
  • LCCA Formula: A framework for effective collaboration with AI
  • Case study: Course and curriculum development at Thinking School

In his talk, Dr. Vu The Dung introduced several “AI assistant” platforms such as Chat GPT, Gemini, Deep Research, Scholar GPT, and Notebook LM (Google). He also provided detailed guidance on how to craft prompts to optimize academic resource searches, assist lecturers in designing PowerPoint slides, and develop video-based lectures with AI. These technologies offer comprehensive support for teaching and curriculum design, ranging from literature review and information synthesis to the creation of interactive content. Beyond the expert insights, the seminar also fostered a lively exchange of ideas, with lecturers actively sharing their experiences and engaging in vibrant Q&A discussions with the speaker, creating an open, collegial, and intellectually engaging atmosphere.

Lecturers engaged in the presentation on the use of Chat GPT in teaching

A key takeaway from the seminar was that the emotional depth of AI-generated content ultimately originates from humans. It is people who set the tone, provide direction, and inspire, while AI merely serves as a tool to convey those emotions. Managing the relationship between AI and its users is therefore essential in shaping the vision and orientation of higher education in the digital age.

Educational institutions actively discussed during the online seminar

With strong participation and a spirit of openness from the lecturers, the seminar took place in an energetic and inspiring atmosphere. The Organizing Committee extended sincere appreciation to Dr. Vu The Dung for his valuable contributions, while also expressing deep gratitude for the trust, enthusiasm, and active engagement of lecturers and educational institutions across the country.
