Lecturers, students of Hoa Sen University donate blood

Hoa Sen University in co-operation with AmCham and the HCM City Hospital of Hematology and Blood Transfusion held a Be Grateful to Blood Donors event on June 3 in respond to humanitarian blood donation under a co-operative programme on community activities between the U.S Enterprise Association and its members. 

The event attracted many lecturers, staffs and students. Particularly, more than 350 ones registered to donate blood. Of them, 233 met standards on blood donation.

Many students from the university’s branches on Cao Thang Street, Tan Vien Street and Quang Trung street were presented at the university’s headquarter on Nguyen Van Trang Street so early. More than five students have donated blood for five consecutive years, including former student Nguyen Thai Ngoc Yen, who was the first person to show up for the event this year.

University student Nguyen Thai Ngoc Yen was the first person to show up for the event this year.

The programme recorded the contribution of volunteers working with the organiser to carry out the event although they had not been provided training. Nearly 70,000ml of blood was donated. The even showed the university’s care for community especially disadvantaged people. The university said the blood donation event would become an annual activity.
