HEALTH INSURANCE CARD

Student health insurance is a social security policy to ensure good initial health care for students. The duration and fee of Health Insurance depend on each period, and the responsible department will notify students via email.

Health Insurance: According to Circular No. 10/2016/TT-BGDĐT dated April 5, 2016 of the Minister of Education and Training, students are required to participate in Health Insurance. In cases where students are issued a card locally or have already joined under their family’s insurance, they should submit a copy of the Health Insurance card to the medical department when notified and no longer need to participate in the school’s Health Insurance.

Since January 2022, the Social Insurance Agency has implemented the use of the VSSID application on mobile devices as a replacement for the traditional paper Health Insurance card. Students can download and register on the app to use it at normal medical facilities.

If a student is tired or has common illnesses, they can contact the health department for preliminary examination, rest, and receive basic medications such as cough syrup, cold medicine, pain relievers, etc.
In cases where a student has received first aid and exhibits more severe symptoms, they will be taken to the nearest medical facilities by health personnel.

Students should contact the health department at the Thành Thái facility for guidance.
The required payment request documents include:
+ Medical examination and treatment cost payment proposal form for Health Insurance: Prepared according to the template issued by the Vietnam Social Insurance Agency (provided by the university).
+ Health Insurance card (valid during the period of medical examination and treatment), replaced by a photo captured using the VSSID application.
+ Personal identification documents with photos.
+ Hospital discharge papers; original copies of valid documents (medicine purchase receipts, hospital fee invoices, and related documents)
