MAE – FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION – Admissions for Master programs at Hoa Sen University (Chinese & French)

To support candidates participating in the foreign language proficiency exam, the Postgraduate Training Institute is offering review classes for Foreign Language 2 (Chinese and French) for candidates applying for the Master’s Program in English Language (MAE).


Candidates applying for the English Language Master’s program must participate in a Foreign Language Proficiency Test organized by the university (Chinese or French) or may be exempted from the test if they meet the foreign language proficiency requirements.

Exemption Criteria for Foreign Language 2

Criteria for Exemption from Foreign Language Exam: Candidates participating in the admission process are exempt from taking the Foreign Language exam if they meet one of the following conditions:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree earned on a full-time basis from overseas institutions recognized by the competent authorities according to current regulations.
  2. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an advanced program under the Ministry of Education and Training’s Project on Advanced Training Programs at selected universities in Vietnam, or hold a high-quality engineer degree (PFIEV) recognized by the Engineering Accreditation Committee (CTI, France), with collaboration from foreign institutions in awarding the degree.
  3. Hold a bachelor’s degree in a foreign language field. Hold a foreign language proficiency certificate equivalent to level 3 or higher according to the Ministry of Education and Training’s 6-level foreign language proficiency framework, as converted in the table below, within 2 years from the date of issuance of the language certificate to the date of application for the master’s program. The certificate must be issued by institutions authorized or recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training. The Principal must assess and take responsibility for the authenticity of the language certificate before recognizing its equivalence.

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher awarded by the institution of training within a period not exceeding 02 years, and the program’s outcomes meet the requirements of language proficiency level 3 or above according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam;
  • Candidates participating in the Master’s program in Vietnamese language for foreign nationals must achieve a Vietnamese language proficiency level of 4 or above according to the Vietnamese language proficiency framework for foreigners, or have graduated from a university (or equivalent) where the program is taught in Vietnamese; and meet the requirements for the second language as prescribed by the training institution (if any).

Note:

  • Certificates used to exempt the language test, if subject to a validity period, must be valid until the date of registration for the exam.
  • For candidates applying for the Master’s program in English Language, the requirement for the second language is French or Chinese, reaching the equivalent proficiency level of level 3 or above according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam or equivalent to level B1 or above according to the European Framework. Candidates need to submit a copy of the certificate for the Admissions Council’s consideration and decision.

Candidates can register to participate in preparatory classes to supplement knowledge for the entrance exam assessing foreign language proficiency.

Preparatory class information:

  • Languages: French and Chinese
  • Study time: 15/11 (12 periods, 3-4 sessions) – The official schedule will be sent to you later.
  • Tuition fee: 700,000 VND

Candidates can pay the tuition fee in one of the following ways:

After transferring the money, candidates send the remittance letter to the mailbox hocphi@hoasen.edu.vn, mai.phanthingoc@hoasen.edu.vn and caohoc@hoasen.edu.vn for confirmation of completion of procedures.

2/ Pay directly at the university:

Candidates can pay in cash or use domestic debit cards (ATM cards) or international cards (Visa, Master, UnionPay, and JCB) at:

Note: Candidates please bring the NN2 Test Preparation Form when paying tuition fees directly at the Financial Accounting Department.
