EFFECTIVE ENGLISH TEACHING STRATEGIES WITH INTERNATIONAL EXPERT

At present, the utilization of English as the primary language for teaching and learning is progressively widespread. This presents an intriguing challenge for educators, necessitating their readiness to foster creativity and adaptability in teaching methodologies, alongside mastering their subject expertise.

On April 6th, 2024, Ms. Camille Williams – English Language Fellow from the U.S. Consulate General / English Language Office, visited Hoa Sen University. She engaged in a meeting and exchange session with the faculty and students of the Master of English Language program. Ms. Williams shared her teaching experiences for a language class and their practical applications. Moreover, she also discussed methods such as teaching psychology and ways to connect with students, aiming to help each individual develop their skills and themselves further.

Lư Quốc Nhân, a current student of the 11th cohort of the Master of Arts in English (MAE) program, shared his thoughts: “I found today’s workshop very beneficial. It was very relevant for those of us who are teaching and studying here to further improve our skills. Aside from listening to the insights shared by the instructor, I also gained additional perspectives from my peers, which helped broaden my understanding of teaching.”

The teachers and students had a lively exchange about the challenges they have encountered and shared the methods they have used in their classrooms. Camille William enthusiastically answered questions from the audience and provided further advice on their concerns and doubts. The workshop was a valuable opportunity for MAE students to gain practical experience, learn from experts, and for those interested in teaching to meet and exchange experiences, gaining additional perspectives in their careers.
