TALKSHOW “FROM A TUTOR TO A MANAGER” – SHAPING CAREER PATHS AND INSPIRING A PASSION FOR TEACHING AMONG HSU ENGLISH LINGUISTICS STUDENTS 31/03/2026

In the context of an ever-evolving English education market, shaping a clear career path while still in university has become increasingly important. On March 27, 2026, the talkshow “From a Tutor to a Manager,” part of the ENGPOWER WORKSHOP SERIES – EP.4, took place, attracting significant interest from students.

The program was organized by the English Linguistics Department, Faculty of Languages – Psychology, with the aim of providing students with a practical perspective on the development journey within the English teaching field – from initial steps to management positions. Accompanying the program were two alumni of the English Linguistics major from Hoa Sen University:

Ms. Le Thi Anh Hong – Founder & CEO of “Tiếng Anh Ms. Hồng”

Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc – Founder & CEO of “Ascend Academy”

At the talkshow, the speakers shared authentic experiences from their early stages as tutors, gradually progressing to become teachers. The speakers also emphasized that the competence of an English teacher is not limited to linguistic knowledge but also includes the ability to understand learners, create connections, and lead positive emotions in the learning environment.

In Part 2 – The Promotion Journey, the speakers shared their personal experiences, from their first “hands-on” steps to reaching management positions and building their own English center systems as they have today. Through this, they expanded the perspective on the developmental path from teacher to manager – a role that requires strategic thinking, human resource management skills, system operations, and the ability to balance professional expertise with long-term development goals.

In addition, many practical topics were shared, such as time management skills, maintaining work energy, avoiding burnout, and especially the mindset for sustainable career development. To achieve this, each individual needs to focus on their own goals, confidently step out of their comfort zone, and dare to seize opportunities to succeed in the future.

The atmosphere of the program was lively, with active participation from students through a direct Q&A session. The talkshow not only provided practical knowledge and experience but also contributed to “keeping the flame alive” and “fueling” the passion for students pursuing English Language Teaching.

Notably, the return of alumni as guest speakers not only brought practical sharing values but also contributed to strengthening the bond between the university and learners across generations. This is a testament to the growth and sustainable development of Hoa Sen students, while creating a powerful source of inspiration for the current generation of students to follow and thrive.
