Chief Accountant For A Day 2026 once again highlighted the growing interest in Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation among students nationwide, bringing together nearly 300 participants from 26 universities across Viet Nam. Taking place at Hoa Sen University, the Final Round went beyond a traditional competition by immersing students in English-based challenges and practical business scenarios, helping them develop analytical thinking and explore how AI is reshaping the future of the accounting industry.
A Platform Connecting Young Talents Nationwide
On July 5, 2026, Hoa Sen University (HSU) hosted the Final Round of Chief Accountant For A Day 2026, an annual academic competition organized by the Accounting and Auditing Club (AAC) under the Accounting program. Conducted entirely in English, the competition challenged students to apply accounting knowledge, solve practical problems, and develop the skills needed for a global professional environment.

After five seasons, the competition has grown into a recognized academic platform for students passionate about Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation. With nearly 300 participants from 26 universities nationwide this year, the Chief Accountant For A Day 2026 has become a vibrant space for students to exchange ideas, challenge themselves, and enhance the professional skills needed for their future careers.
A Final Challenge Connecting Accounting Expertise with AI Transformation
Following three rounds of selection, the 21 top-performing contestants advanced to the Final Round, forming five teams representing different universities. Beyond testing accounting expertise, the competition format encouraged students to strengthen their teamwork, communication, and adaptability, essential skills for thriving in today’s multicultural professional environment.

Bringing a fresh perspective to the competition, this year’s season highlighted how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming corporate financial and accounting management. Teams had to go beyond technical knowledge by applying analytical thinking, professional expertise, and technology capabilities to solve realistic business challenges.
With only one chance and 40 minutes, finalists faced a demanding challenge in the Final Round, spending 15 minutes developing their solutions before delivering a 25-minute presentation and Q&A session with the judging panel. The fast-paced format, conducted entirely in English, showcased the contestants’ adaptability, strategic thinking, and readiness to respond to professional challenges in the AI era.

A Dynamic Training Environment Bridging Knowledge and Practice
More than a test of accounting expertise, Chief Accountant For A Day 2026 provided students with an opportunity to develop the strategic mindset of future financial managers in an era of digital transformation.
By tackling practical business scenarios, participants enhanced essential skills in data analysis, risk evaluation, financial decision-making, and professional communication through presentations and discussions with expert judges. These competencies represent the qualities businesses are seeking in future-ready accounting professionals in the AI era.
By integrating specialized expertise, English proficiency, and technology-driven thinking, students are better prepared to navigate new opportunities and adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the job market.

The 2026 season concluded with the recognition of the competition’s outstanding teams, with the Organizing Committee presenting the following awards:
- First prize: The Bottom Line – students from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Foreign Trade University – Campus II, and Banking University Ho Chi Minh City.
- Second prize: Ascendancy – students from Hoa Sen University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, and Banking University Ho Chi Minh City.
- Third prize: The Mirrors – students from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
- Consolation Prizes:
- Veritas – students from University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM and Western Sydney University; and,
- Avengers Audit – students from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM.


The outstanding performances demonstrated not only the contestants’ solid professional knowledge but also their teamwork, adaptability, and commitment, highlighting the high caliber of students from universities nationwide.

Beyond serving as an academic platform for accounting students, the competition highlighted HSU students’ leadership and event management capabilities. With a team of 15–20 members from AAC, students were responsible for every aspect of the event, including communications, logistics, operations, external relations, and the organization of each competition round. Their efforts demonstrated HSU’s commitment to experiential learning by empowering students to design and deliver a large-scale academic event.

Chief Accountant For A Day 2026 reflected the close collaboration between HSU and leading professional organizations, with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) serving as the competition’s professional partner, supported by Viet Australia Auditing Company Limited and My Toan Production and Trading Company Limited.

Supported by professional organizations, businesses, and experienced finance and accounting leaders, the competition recreated real-world business challenges that reflected the realities of today’s workplace.
