Orientation Day Fall 2026: HSU Welcomes International Students and Builds Multicultural Connections
Bringing together nearly 40 international students from more than eight countries, including Japan, Belgium, France, Germany, Rwanda, Morocco, and others, HSU’s Orientation Day for International Students – Fall 2026 marked the beginning of a new chapter of learning, connection, and cultural exchange. Beyond introducing essential information about the learning environment and support services, it also allowed students to connect with the Hoa Sen community and begin their exchange journey with greater confidence.
Building Connections and Familiarity from the Start
On September 11, 2026, the Institute of International Education and Global Engagement at Hoa Sen University (HSU) welcomed international students to the Orientation Day for International Students – Fall 2026 at Veritas Hall, Nguyen Van Trang Campus, marking the beginning of their study journey at HSU for the first semester of the 2026 – 2027 academic year.
Representing diverse cultures and educational backgrounds, the international students have brought their own stories and perspectives to the Hoa Sen community. Their presence has enriched the learning environment, creating more opportunities for cultural exchange, meaningful connections, and learning across borders.
Orientation Day opened with a Welcome Session and an introduction to HSU, giving international students their first look at the learning environment and community they will join this semester.
Then, representatives from the HSU Board of Presidents extended a warm welcome and highlighted HSU’s spirit of openness, cultural diversity, and international integration, encouraging students to embrace new connections and experiences throughout their journey.
Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Duc, HSU Vice President, welcomed the international students to HSU and encouraged them to connect with lecturers, staff, and the wider student community throughout their time in Viet Nam. He further highlighted that an exchange semester was more than an academic experience, as every conversation, friendship, and cultural encounter could broaden students’ perspectives and help them discover more about the world and themselves.
Exploring HSU’s Learning Environment
To help students feel more at home at HSU, Orientation Day provided essential information on academics, timetables, campus facilities, holiday schedules, and key regulations for their time in Viet Nam.
Students also discovered the services and resources available through the Student Center, as well as important contact points where they could turn for academic guidance, practical support, and assistance throughout their exchange journey.
Moreover, students explored Student Account Setup, gaining practical guidance on managing their HSU accounts, accessing student email, and navigating the Student Information System and Hoa Sen application. These essential first steps equipped students with the knowledge and confidence to navigate HSU’s learning environment, access the right resources, and take greater ownership of their semester from day one.
Fostering Connections Through Cultural Differences
The presence of nearly 40 international students has significantly enriched the HSU learning environment by introducing diverse perspectives and experiences. Representing various universities, partner institutions, and countries, they are scheduled to join HSU for the Fall 2026 semester and will contribute to a dynamic, multicultural campus community.
Beyond academic learning, the program provides opportunities for them to connect across departments, exchange cultural stories, and build new friendships. By sharing their insights about hometowns, experiences, and perspectives, they can become more connected to the Hoa Sen community while creating meaningful relationships that can continue throughout the semester.
