HSU Fashion Design Students Present 60 Creations at Archive Reimagined
The atmosphere of the new semester at Hoa Sen University became vibrant with the fashion show Archive Reimagined, organized by students from the Fashion Design program under the Faculty of Design and Arts. The event marked the culmination of more than two months of continuous work, from concept development and design creation to costume production and the staging of a professional runway show.
Reimagining heritage through contemporary creativity
Drawing inspiration from fashion archives and historical landmarks, Fashion Design program students at Hoa Sen University (HSU) reimagined heritage through research and creative reinterpretation. Traditional forms and structures were deconstructed, transformed, and revitalized with contemporary energy, creating 60 designs that carried a modern aesthetic identity.

Beyond showcasing technical skills, each collection reflected the personal voice of young designers and their perspectives on contemporary fashion trends. Heritage was no longer preserved as something static from the past, but became a living source of creativity and inspiration for new expressions in today’s world.
Wearing two hats: fashion designer and show operator
What made Archive Reimagined unique was its operating model, where 25 students acted as designers and show organizers. With guidance from instructors, they managed the full production process, from model casting and fittings to backstage work, stage coordination, media relations, and hosting.
“Wearing two hats” gave them a more holistic experience, helping them not only create designs but also understand how a fashion show functions in a professional setting, where every detail shapes the final presentation.

Fashion industry–driven growth under pressure and intensity
Preparing for the show places students in a demanding, high-pressure environment that mirrors the realities of the fashion industry. Under pressure, learning becomes more than theory; it transforms into experience that builds resilience and sharpens organizational skills.
Rather than being a barrier, pressure becomes a driving force for growth, shaping resilience and strengthening organizational abilities. Through this process, students broaden their understanding of fashion, not only as designers, but as part of a larger ecosystem of professionals working behind the scenes to create a polished and cohesive show.

Experiential learning shaping creative identity
“Archive Reimagined” embodies HSU’s educational philosophy and training direction, empowering students to learn actively through experiential practice and turn ideas into concrete creative value.
Moving from classroom foundations to runway realization, Fashion Design students continually discover their potential, refine their creative identity, and build confidence in navigating the dynamic fashion industry.
