HSU English Language Studies Students Shine at the Inter-University English Challenge 2025

On November 28, 2025, two teams of Hoa Sen University’s English Language Studies students made their mark at the Inter-University English Challenge 2025, earning two notable awards in the final round. Facing fierce competition, they delivered standout performances, showcasing remarkable confidence, critical thinking, and impressive English proficiency.

Two HSU teams shining with courage and maturity

Following a demanding sequence of rounds, The Dynamite and The Shing teams of Hoa Sen University (HSU) achieved commendable results:

• Third Place – The Dynamite Team: Ms. Le Nguyen Truc Loan, Mr. Do Quoc Bao, and Mr. Vu Ngoc An; and,
• Consolation Prize – The Shing Team: Ms. Le Cac Nhi, Ms. Duong Ngoc Nhi, and Ms. Nguyen Hoang Thanh Ngan.

Not only did they earn awards, but their performance also left a strong impression on the judges and audience through their mature demeanor, clear expression, and cohesive teamwork.

Large-scale academic playground, comprehensive challenge

Gathering 12 exceptional teams from six universities in Ho Chi Minh City, the 2025 Inter-University English Challenge unfolded across four rounds of escalating difficulty: Talent Show, General Knowledge, Speed-Up Scoring, and a Live Debate on Current Issues. Each round required sharp focus and the ability to perform at peak capacity.

Furthermore, each round challenged contestants’ critical thinking, communication skills, and stage presence. Through this journey, HSU students strengthened their ability to react swiftly, communicate effectively, and stay composed under pressure.

As a member of the Jury, MA. Nguyen Minh Tri, Program Director of HSU English Language Studies, noted:
“This year’s competition gathered strong teams from universities across Ho Chi Minh City, offering students a meaningful chance to connect, learn, gain new experiences, and develop key skills for their academic path ahead”.

As a Lecturer supporting the two teams during the preparation process, MA. Trinh Binh Thanh Son, HSU lecturer of English Language Studies, emphasized:
“The students’ solidarity, determination, and creativity are what shaped today’s success. This achievement not only reflects their talent and courage, but also fuels their confidence to reach even greater milestones ahead”.

Through their journey at the Inter-University English Challenge 2025, HSU students have demonstrated outstanding English proficiency, a serious learning mindset, and remarkable confidence in a highly competitive academic arena. This achievement has reaffirmed the strength of HSU’s English Language Studies program, where students have been trained in comprehensive thinking, modern academic expression, and given diverse opportunities to join international-level competitions.
