Field Trip To Duong Sach (Book Street) With DMU-HSU Vietnam 2026
The Field Trip to Duong Sach with DMU-HSU Vietnam took place on Vietnam’s Reading Day. In a world where content is “consumed” in just seconds through digital devices, DMU–HSU Vietnam students and Hoa Sen University students chose a more globally-minded approach on the morning of April 23, 2026 — stepping outside the classroom to connect, engage in dialogue, and explore reading habits through an international lens.

At Ho Chi Minh City’s Book Street, a lively series of interviews took place with international tourists as the main subjects, creating a vibrant space for cultural and linguistic exchange.
INTERNATIONAL INTERVIEWS – WHEN THE CLASSROOM HAS NO LIMITS
Students didn’t just ask questions — they communicated, listened, and interacted entirely in English with visitors from a wide range of countries during the Field Trip To Duong Sach (Book Street) with DMU-HSU Vietnam.

Questions such as:
- Is reading still relevant in the digital age?
- Can books compete with TikTok or YouTube?
- Which book has influenced you the most?
…sparked rich cross-cultural conversations, where each answer reflected a different educational background, a different reading habit, and a different perspective on life.

Some tourists shared about the deep-rooted reading culture in their home countries, others emphasized the role of books in developing critical thinking, and some openly acknowledged that social media is gradually changing the way they access knowledge.
AN INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE RIGHT HERE IN VIETNAM WITH THE DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY – HSU VIETNAM PROGRAM
No need to study abroad — students in Vietnam still have the opportunity to:
- Practice English in real-life communication settings
- Engage with diverse accents, cultures, and perspectives
- Build confidence when interacting with foreigners
- Develop integration skills and a global mindset

Each group conducted 4–6 short interviews (2–5 minutes each), capturing genuine and natural moments of communication — where knowledge comes not only from books, but from people themselves at Field Trip To Duong Sach.
LEARNING TO INTEGRATE – LEARNING FROM THE REAL WORLD
The activity went beyond information gathering, also helping students:
- Understand how different cultures perceive the act of reading
- Compare and critically reflect on traditional versus modern reading habits
- See themselves within the context of globalization

Because in a world without borders… The ability to communicate, empathize, and learn from international perspectives is the key to thriving in the future.
And sometimes, a short conversation on a book street can open up a truly “global” point of view.
