HSU TechDev Challenge 2023: A technology playground for young pioneers

With the desire to create a dynamic academic playground, arouse the spirit of innovation, and develop comprehensive capacity for students, the Faculty of Information Technology of Hoa Sen University has organized the HSU TechDev Challenge 2023 – a place to incubate promising technology ideas.

Inspiring technology from the lecture hall to practice

On December 28, 2023, the final round of the HSU TechDev Challenge 2023 officially took place with the participation of 26 teams, gathering students who love technology from the first year to the final year. The teams presented innovative projects in many developing fields: Mobile App, Web App, IoT, and technology integration solutions for life.

Not only a playground for experienced students, but the contest also recognized the impressive participation of first-year “rookies”, confidently bringing products to the competition, with a sharp mindset and a great spirit of learning. The convincing and thoughtful performances from the students have left many impressions on the hearts of the Jury and the audience.

Honoring outstanding teams at HSU TechDev Challenge 2023

After a thrilling competition, the Jury selected the best teams:

• First Prize: Slam Rover, a project with breakthrough technology solutions, high practical application;
• Second Prize: NudeProtector, an application with security elements, showing a keen perspective on social issues;
• Third Prize: Intelligent Living Space, a smart living space model, optimizing user experience;
• Consolation Prize: WexLearn and Digital Product Visualization, an innovative idea focused on education and product experience.

The HSU TechDev Challenge has been a unique platform for growth and experience. Each product is the direct result of a committed process of learning and teamwork.

Under the guidance of seasoned lecturers and open learning resources, students were trained in creative thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork skills, project presentation skills, and learned how to turn knowledge into tools to create value – essential elements in the modern technology industry.

It was the early collisions with time pressure, technical requirements, and professional criticism from the judges that helped students of the Faculty of Information Technology take a long step forward in the process of self-improvement. This is also a testament to the training model associated with practice, where schools are not just lecture halls, but an open learning ecosystem – connecting knowledge, technology, and business.
