Hoa Sen University (HSU) signed an MoU with De Montfort University (DMU), marking a strategic partnership with the prestigious 150-year-old British University.

On February 8th, 2022, HSU and DMU organized a Signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on joint-training cooperation between the two universities. This is an important milestone marking the strategic partnership between a leading private university in Vietnam and a 150-year-old famous university in the UK.

The MoU signing ceremony was solemnly organized with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy – HSU’s President and members of the Board of Directors as well as several Deans. On the De Montfort University side, there has been the presence of Mr. Simon Bradbury – Pro Vice-Chancellor President and a number of Deans. Moreover, the ceremony was also attended by the representative of the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Phuong – Trade Manager (Education).

Representative between HSU and DMU, ​​Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy – President and Mr. Simon Bradbury – Vice-Chancellor President have completed the signing of MoU on strategic cooperation between the two institutions.

After a long-time negotiation, up to the present, the two universities have agreed on a model of training cooperation in the field of higher education. Specifically, Vietnamese students will be able to study Bachelor and Master programs of De Montfort University at Hoa Sen University. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded the degrees by  De Montfort University.

Through this cooperation, Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to access the UK’s world-class high-quality education in Vietnam without having to spend as much as the traditional way of studying abroad.

Therefore, the cooperation among universities around the world has become an inevitable trend, not a mere choice any more” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy – HSU’s President.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy believes that the MoU signing Ceremony between Hoa Sen University and De Montfort University will create a solid foundation for the cooperation relationship in the field of higher education between the two countries, from which many high-quality British training programs will be provided to Vietnamese students through the excellent teaching staff of Hoa Sen University in the near future.

The two sides expressed their honor and respect for the cooperation to promote better learning opportunities and experiences for Vietnamese students.

“De Montfort University is in the top 200 young universities in the Time Higher Education World University Ranking and in the top 25 best universities in the UK which focuses on training, equipping students with necessary skills for their career path after graduation as well as providing high-quality human resources for society”, said Pro Vice-Chancellor President. Mr. Simon Bradbury.

“Today’s MoU signing Ceremony is a clear demonstration of the strategic partnership between the two universities, thereby providing better learning opportunities for Vietnamese students,” said Mr. Simon Bradbury.

During the ceremony, Deans from the two universities also expressed their joy about this cooperation relationship and pledged to work together in professional fields to bring the highest quality of training to learners.

Ms. Ho Thi Kim Phuong – Trade Manager (Education) of the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City expressed her pleasure to witness the MoU signing ceremony between Hoa Sen University and De Montfort University. Besides, she hopes that the two institutions will continue to cooperate closely so that Vietnamese students can soon access high-quality academic programs from the UK.

Through the Signing Ceremony, HSU wants to further promote the student’s experience as well as improve the training of international bilingual standards, helping students to gradually approach the global academic environment and labor market.
