HSU FACULTY OF MARKETING – COMMUNICATION EXPANDS INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS WITH UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA MALAYSIA

As the communication and creative industries continue to evolve beyond national borders, international academic collaboration has become increasingly important in preparing students for a globalized professional environment.

On June 19, 2026, the Faculty of Marketing – Communication at Hoa Sen University held an academic exchange meeting with Mr. Mohd Nur Najmi Bin Nuji, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Strengthening academic collaboration in communication and media studies

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is one of Malaysia’s leading public universities, recognized for its programs in communication, media studies, public relations, broadcasting, and digital communication.

Its Faculty of Communication and Media Studies offers programs closely related to the academic orientation of HSU’s Faculty of Marketing – Communication, including:

  • Public Relations
  • Mass Communication
  • Broadcasting
  • Media Studies
  • Digital Media and Communication

These shared academic interests create strong potential for future collaboration between the two institutions, especially in the context of the rapidly growing ASEAN communication and creative industries.

Creating international learning opportunities for students

Representing the Faculty of Marketing – Communication at HSU were:

  • Mr. Truong Quang Vinh –  Associate Dean
  • Mr. Mai Quyet Thang – Program Director of Public Relations and Media Production Management
  • Mr. Do Huynh Lam Thinh – Program Director of Multimedia Communication

During the meeting, both sides discussed several potential areas of collaboration, including: student and lecturer exchange programs, guest lectures and international speakers, joint research projects and international certification programs for students.

Mr. Mohd Nur Najmi Bin Nuji currently serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) and holds the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), a prestigious professional certification in the field of public relations in Malaysia.

He has also collaborated academically with Mr. Mai Quyet Thang on a book chapter related to public relations studies.

Towards an ASEAN learning ecosystem for communication students

Notably, this marks the first time Universiti Teknologi MARA has explored partnership opportunities with a university in Vietnam, with Hoa Sen University being selected as its first potential partner.

For HSU’s Faculty of Marketing – Communication, international collaboration is part of a broader strategy to develop an educational environment connected to industry practices, digital transformation, creativity, and global communication trends.

Through these international partnerships, students are expected to gain not only academic knowledge but also broader perspectives, multicultural communication experiences, and greater readiness for the regional and global creative economy.
