World Mental Health Day 2026 – Borderline Personality Disorder
Bringing international clinical expertise to mental health education, Hoa Sen University (HSU) hosted a workshop on the morning of October 10, 2026, with Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Minh Tam from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. Held at AURORA Hall as the opening event of HSU’s World Mental Health Day 2026 series, the workshop, “Raising Awareness of Borderline Personality Disorder and Its Treatment”, attracted nearly 500 registrations and more than 300 attendees.
Current Clinical Knowledge of Borderline Personality Disorder
Building a deeper understanding of mental health begins with access to reliable knowledge and expert perspectives. Marking World Mental Health Day (WMHD) on October 10, the Institute of Psychology, under the Faculty of Languages and Psychology at Hoa Sen University (HSU), organized the “Raising Awareness of Borderline Personality Disorder and Its Treatment” workshop to share specialized knowledge in clinical psychology and encourage greater awareness of mental health.

Featuring insights from Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Minh Tam, the program explored three key areas: the clinical characteristics of borderline personality disorder, diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis, and approaches to intervention and treatment. From recognizing clinical characteristics to understanding diagnostic criteria and treatment options, participants explored how professional knowledge informs the assessment and support of people with borderline personality disorder.
Moreover, these discussions encouraged a more informed approach to mental health, emphasizing careful evaluation and evidence-based understanding over subjective interpretation.
Bridging Psychological Knowledge and Community Understanding
The first workshop in the WMHD 2026 series attracted nearly 500 registrations and welcomed more than 300 attendees, demonstrating substantial interest in mental health education.
This engagement underscores the importance of ongoing learning, professional knowledge exchange, and broader dialogue on mental health across academic and community settings.

By bringing together students, faculty members, and psychology enthusiasts, the workshop created a shared space for learning, dialogue, and the exchange of professional perspectives. Beyond expanding participants’ knowledge, these interactions helped bridge academic expertise and community interest, promoting a more informed approach to mental health.
Through WMHD 2026, HSU’s Institute of Psychology continues to expand opportunities for practical learning and professional exchange, connecting academic communities with practitioners and members of the public who share an interest in psychology.

The Next Chapter of WMHD 2026
The first workshop concluded with sincere appreciation from the Organizing Committee to Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Minh Tam, faculty members, and all participants. Their contributions and engagement made the session a meaningful opportunity to exchange professional insights and deepen understanding of mental health.

The workshop “Raising Awareness of Borderline Personality Disorder and Its Treatment” marks the beginning of WMHD 2026, bringing participants together to exchange professional insights and deepen their understanding of mental health. The series will continue with Workshop 2, offering more opportunities to explore mental health, connect with experts, and engage in HSU-organized activities in response to WMHD.
