The event celebrates the enduring value of knowledge and culture, marking a new milestone in HSU’s mission to connect globally and elevate Vietnamese culture on the world stage.

UNESCO Recognition – Vietnamese Wisdom on the Global Stage

In this memorable event, HSU will proudly receive a certification from UNESCO, honoring its ongoing dedication to nurturing a more educated and compassionate world. This recognition celebrates HSU’s passion for sustainable education, its role in spreading knowledge, and its mission to bring Vietnamese humanistic values to the international stage. The event will be honored by the attendance of Mr. Tran Van Manh, Vice President of the Federation of UNESCO Associations in Asia-Pacific.

UNESCO’s recognition is a testament to HSU’s relentless pursuit of innovation in teaching, research, and global collaboration. Moreover, it affirms the university’s pioneering role in shaping an open, creative, and internationally connected learning community in Viet Nam.

Cultural Exchange with Harvard and the Tale of Kieu Translation Project team

The seminar offers a unique opportunity for students, faculty, and literature enthusiasts to engage directly with some of the world’s leading scholars. It also invites participants to explore the remarkable journey of bringing The Tale of Kieu, a timeless masterpiece of Vietnamese literature, to international readers.

The program features two distinguished speakers:

Professor John Stauffer, Professor of English at Harvard University, is the author of 19 international research works and publications, and one of the world’s leading scholars in resistance literature, the abolitionist movement, and 19th-century American literature. Sharing topic: “Literary Trends in the Digital Transformation Era”.

Mr. Nguyen Do, Vietnamese-American poet, translator, and editor, has authored over 13 poetry collections and several bilingual Vietnamese-English anthologies. Furthermore, he has contributed as the co-editor and translator, alongside Professor John Stauffer and poet Paul Hoover, in the project translating The Tale of Kiều into English. Sharing topic: “The Tale of Kieu – a journey beyond time and borders”.
