Orientation Day 2026: HSU First-Year Students Open the Door to a Vibrant University Journey

On September 14, 2026, Orientation Day, part of HSU’s Welcome Week for First-Year Students, marked the beginning of the 2026 cohort’s university journey. From gaining essential information for their studies to meeting faculty members, connecting with peers and businesses, and exploring the Youth Union, Student Association, and clubs, first-year students began finding their place and discovering the many opportunities awaiting them at Hoa Sen University.

The First Experiences of the HSU Journey

On September 14, 2026, the first day of Welcome Week for First-Year Students at Hoa Sen University (HSU), the event welcomed students from the Faculties of Technology, Hospitality Management, Business, and Design and Arts in the morning session, followed by students from the Faculties of Law, Marketing and Communications, Logistics and International Trade, and Languages and Psychology in the afternoon.

Orientation Day 2026 turned the first day at HSU into an opportunity to learn, explore, and connect. Through “Study Smart”, students picked up practical guidance for navigating their studies; “HSU Has Your Back” connected them with resources and support for their university journey; while “Digital Campus” introduced the facilities and technologies shaping their learning experience.

Together, these activities equipped new students with the knowledge and resources to begin their HSU journey with confidence. The excitement continued beyond the orientation sessions with mini-games, “Club Paradise”, and opportunities to connect with the Youth Union, Student Association, clubs, and businesses. With 25 booths showcasing businesses, youth organizations, and student clubs, first-year students had plenty of opportunities to meet, explore their interests, and find their place within the HSU community.

Taking Initiative to Shape Your Journey

Speaking to first-year students at Orientation Day 2026, Dr. Le Van Ut, HSU Vice President for Scientific Research, encouraged them to embrace their own choices, experiences, and paths as they begin their university journey.

According to him, shaping their university journey was not about having all the answers from the start. It was about knowing what they wanted to pursue, being proactive in seeking information, asking for support when needed, and taking ownership of their choices.

“HSU will provide the environment, resources, and opportunities to support your journey. However, the direction you take, the experiences you pursue, and the person you become are yours to shape”, he commented.

This approach reflects HSU’s learner-centered philosophy, where every student is encouraged to think independently, explore beyond their comfort zone, and discover their own path through meaningful experiences.

Opportunities to Try, Experience, and Grow

Speaking to first-year students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Duc, HSU Vice President, shared that university was more than a period of academic study. It was a journey of self-discovery, where students gradually understood themselves, uncovered their abilities, and found the direction that felt right for them. He also encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, open themselves to new connections, and embrace opportunities to try new things.

“Don’t be afraid to choose something you have never tried before. Step beyond your comfort zone, meet new people, and allow yourself to discover what you are capable of”, he claimed.

Moreover, he emphasized that what students gained from university went beyond academic achievement. It was also reflected in their ability to collaborate, take responsibility, and create meaningful value for the community. Therefore, every experience at HSU could contribute to students’ growth, helping them develop both their competencies and character along the way.

For many first-year students, the university journey begins not with one big moment, but with a series of small discoveries: learning where to seek support, figuring out how to study effectively, meeting new people, finding a club to connect with, or experiencing a corporate environment for the first time. Step by step, these experiences help them understand what university life could look like and feel more confident about the journey ahead.
