Summer Camp 2025: A Week of Discovery for Ningbo University Students at HSU

Recently, the Summer Camp 2025 gave students from Ningbo University a well-rounded experience, as they engaged with HSU faculty, visited businesses, and explored the unique cultural features of Ho Chi Minh City.

From the first days of their arrival in Viet Nam, Ningbo University students quickly integrated into the dynamic learning environment at Hoa Sen University (HSU). The first week featured specialized topics taught by lecturers, with HSU students providing enthusiastic support for both learning and cultural exchange.

The highly interactive lessons encouraged lively discussion and debate. This approach gave students specialized knowledge while also fostering their communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

The main learning topic of the first week was “Logistics and E-Commerce Fundamentals”. Ningbo students learned, practiced, and developed logistics management applications on the AppSheet platform through the project “Delivery Management with AppSheet”. The project required them to design and implement a system to manage orders, track shipments, and automate customer notifications. This experience was invaluable, helping them develop essential skills in process automation, data management, and UI design.

Connecting knowledge and practice at a field trip at VietCap

The Summer Camp also featured a field trip to Vietcap Securities Joint Stock Company, one of the leading companies in Viet Nam’s securities and financial services sectors.

The trip offered students a unique opportunity to witness a professional financial environment and learn directly from industry experts.

This invaluable experience provided both practical knowledge and clarity on the many opportunities and challenges that await them in a global career.

Exploring Ho Chi Minh City’s Culture and History on a City Tour

Beyond academic activities, Ningbo University students had opportunities to participate in the City Tour to explore the iconic architectural works and cultural spaces of Ho Chi Minh City, such as:  Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, City Post Office, City Theater, Nguyen Hue Boulevard, and the City People’s Committee.

Far from being just a sightseeing trip, this experience helped students learn about the history and culture of Viet Nam. It contributed to fostering a better understanding of the country and its people, while creating unforgettable memories during their stay at HSU.

Fostering International Academic and Cultural Connections at Summer Camp 2025

The first week of Summer Camp 2025 was a testament to the program’s ability to combine academics, practice, and culture.

Students from Ningbo University were able to gain valuable knowledge from seminars and projects while also honing their international integration skills. Beyond the classroom, city tours, and cultural experiences allowed students to immerse themselves in the Vietnamese identity.
