New Generation Students 2026: HSU Students Turn Phu Hoa Dong Rice Paper Heritage into a Creative Project
On October 4, 2026, eleven students from Hoa Sen University will take the stage at the New Generation Students 2026 Preliminary Round at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), presenting their project “Phú Hòa Đông lắm việc – Gen ‘Ziệt’ mở lối!”. The project explores the story of Phú Hòa Đông, a rice paper-making village with more than 80 years of history, bringing its cultural heritage and local stories closer to the community through a fresh student perspective.
HSU Students’ Preparation for New Generation Students 2026
On October 4, the New Generation Students 2026 Preliminary Round will bring eleven students from Hoa Sen University (HSU) to the stage at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), where they will introduce their project “Phú Hòa Đông lắm việc – Gen ‘Ziệt’ mở lối!”.
Drawing inspiration from Phú Hòa Đông, a traditional rice paper-making village in Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City, the project seeks to preserve the values of traditional craftsmanship while opening up new ways for younger generations to connect with its heritage and stories. Through the message “HSU lửa bánh bền lâu – đậm sâu làng nghề!”, the students bring a fresh Gen Z perspective to the village’s heritage, using creativity and new ideas to bring the story of traditional craftsmanship closer to the wider community.
The project brings together eleven HSU students majoring in Psychology, Software Engineering, Economic Law, Public Relations, and International Business. With expertise spanning different fields, the students contribute diverse perspectives, skills, and approaches to the project, creating opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration from development to execution.

- Tran Ngoc Phuong My, 3rd-year International Business student;
- Tran Duy Phuong Nhi, 2nd-year Economic Law student;
- Trinh Cam Nhung, 3rd-year Psychology student;
- Le Anh Thu, 4th-year Economic Law student;
- Nguyen Ngoc Thanh Trang, 2nd-year Economic Law student; and,
- Dinh Thanh Trung, 2nd-year International Business student.

At the New Generation Students 2026 Preliminary Round, the HSU students will present their project through a multidisciplinary lens, connecting knowledge from different fields with the story of Phú Hòa Đông’s traditional rice paper-making village. More than a competition, it encourages students to think creatively, develop practical ideas, and explore how their initiatives can contribute to the community.

Furthermore, students are encouraged to explore new perspectives, turn creative thinking into practical initiatives, and discover ways to contribute to their communities.
How can students turn their knowledge and creativity into meaningful contributions to the places they call home? This is the spirit behind New Generation Students 2026, organized by the Culture and Entertainment Department (VTV3) of Vietnam Television (VTV) in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and universities nationwide.
With the message “Quê mình có việc, Gen ‘Ziệt’ có cách”, it invites students to explore practical challenges in their universities and communities, develop feasible ideas, and bring projects with positive social impact to life. Beyond the competition, it is a platform for students to discover their potential, develop their strengths, and share their creativity and contributions with communities across Viet Nam.
