Exploring New Frontiers in Design and Art Through Scientific Data

On August 21, 2026, Hoa Sen University’s Faculty of Design and Art, in collaboration with the Institute for Scientometrics and Research Administration Policies (SARAP), organized the scientific conference “International Research and Publication in Design and Art”, with online participation from the Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design at Hanoi University of Industry.
More than 134 lecturers, students, and interested participants joined the workshop to discuss how scientific data can be leveraged to identify research gaps and develop potential directions for international publication in Design and Art.

Using Scientific Data to Explore Design and Art Research

On August 21, 2026, Hoa Sen University (HSU) brought together researchers and academics through the scientific conference “International Research and Publication in Design and Art”, co-organized by its Faculty of Design and Art and the Institute for Scientometrics and Research Administration Policies (SARAP), with online participation from the Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design at Hanoi University of Industry.

During the workshop, Dr. Le Van Ut, HSU Vice President for scientific research and Director of HSU SARAP, presented an analysis of 200 recent scientific studies from around the world, covering fashion design, fashion business, interior design, graphic design, digital art, and garment technology, based on data from Scopus and Web of Science.

By accessing research data, participants gained insights into globally relevant topics and emerging research trends across different fields. Moreover, the workshop presented a practical framework for developing research topics, beginning with data analysis, problem identification, and research gap recognition before moving toward suitable research directions.

Data-Driven Approaches to Publication Direction

In addition to the analysis, participants were guided on how to utilize scientific databases, identify research gaps, and select topics with potential for international publication.

The interactive format gave instructors, students, and other interested participants opportunities to practice, ask questions, and exchange ideas directly with the speaker. By connecting research with practice, the workshop equipped students and faculty with practical tools to develop ideas into concrete research directions.

Expanding Interinstitutional Research Collaboration

More than 134 faculty members, students, and interested participants joined the workshop both in person and online. The workshop also created opportunities for academic networking between HSU and Hanoi University of Industry.

Through the exchange of data, methods, and research directions, it also opened up further opportunities for research collaboration and international publication, particularly in Design and Art.
