On the afternoon of June 7, 2026, the IELTS Spelling Championship 2026 – University Finals welcomed 100 outstanding contestants from 10 universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Rising above more than 3,500 participants, these outstanding students demonstrated not only their English language proficiency but also their resilience, critical thinking, and readiness to thrive in an increasingly globalized world.
The IELTS Spelling Championship 2026, organized by the Institute of English and International Integration of Hoa Sen University in collaboration with IMAP Vietnam Education and Training Joint Stock Company and IDP Vietnam, served as a prestigious academic platform for university students. Following an IELTS-oriented format, the competition encouraged participants to apply English with precision, agility, and confidence while developing skills aligned with international standards.

On the afternoon of June 7, 2026, the IELTS Spelling Championship 2026 – University Finals, organized by the Institute of English and International Integration (iEII) of Hoa Sen University (HSU) in collaboration with IMAP Vietnam Education and Training Joint Stock Company (IMAP Vietnam) and IDP Vietnam, brought together 100 outstanding contestants from 10 universities in Ho Chi Minh City.
More than just a spelling contest, the IELTS Spelling Championship presents numerous challenges that require candidates to simultaneously draw on their vocabulary, memorization skills, reaction speed, and pressure-handling abilities within a short timeframe.
Competing against other contestants from various universities, participants faced a series of high-pressure rounds in which every second and every word mattered. The competition served as a dynamic training ground, enabling students to sharpen their focus, enhance linguistic agility, and strengthen composure under pressure while actively applying their English skills.

HSU Students Among the Top 5 Overall Contestants
In this year’s final round, Mr. Nguyen Vu Chinh, HSU English Language Studies student, excellently surpassed thousands of contestants to secure a place in the Top 5.
This achievement is the result of diligent study, perseverance, and the effective application of English in a highly competitive academic setting. It also demonstrates the professional competence, confidence, and integration capacity of HSU students in large-scale competitions.
