HSU and VNU Hanoi Discuss Collaboration on Southern Viet Nam’s Urban Heritage Research

Strengthening interdisciplinary research and academic collaboration, the Institute for Southern Urban Heritage Studies (HSU-SUHE) and relevant units at Hoa Sen University (HSU) welcomed a delegation of experts from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) to explore future research opportunities.

The VNU delegation comprised Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Thach, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Interdisciplinary Science and Arts; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quynh Phuong, Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Industry and Heritage at VNU’s School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts (SIS); and other experts.

Representing HSU, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Le Van Ut, Vice President for Scientific Research and Dean of the Institute for Scientometrics and Research Administration Policies (SARAP), and brought together Dr. Nguyen Duc Hiep, Dean of the Institute for Southern Urban Heritage Studies (HSU-SUHE); Mr. Tu Phu Duc, MA, Dean of the Faculty of Design and Arts; as well as lecturers and staff from relevant HSU units.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed and agreed in principle to sign an inter-faculty/institute cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Cultural Industry and Heritage of SIS and three HSU units: HSU-SUHE, the Faculty of Design and Arts, and SARAP.

Marking a new chapter in academic collaboration, the meeting brings together HSU’s faculties and institutes and SIS to build on their respective strengths in research, training, and transferring research outcomes. The collaboration also underscores HSU’s commitment to expanding its academic network, fostering interdisciplinary research, and translating research into practical value for the community and sustainable development.
