Hoa Sen University Students Embark on an “Extraordinary Session” at VNG
Every business becomes an open classroom where students learn beyond textbooks, gaining first-hand experience and connecting theory with real-world practice. With a strong emphasis on experiential learning, Hoa Sen University continuously creates opportunities for students to engage with professional working environments from their first year at university.
Discovering Viet Nam’s Leading Technology Ecosystem
Recently, Hoa Sen University (HSU) students from the Faculty of Technology and the DMU–HSU International Joint Program embarked on an experiential learning journey at VNG GROUP JSC (VNG), one of Viet Nam’s leading technology companies. Through the field trip, students gained first-hand insights into the technology sector, explored a modern workplace, and developed a better understanding of potential career pathways in the industry.
During the field trip, students explored VNG’s growth journey, corporate culture, core business areas, and the technological trends driving the industry forward. Through sharing sessions with company representatives, they gained first-hand insights into workforce demands in the technology sector, the competencies required for success in today’s workplace, and the wide range of career opportunities awaiting future technology professionals.
Furthermore, VNG’s creative workspace, dynamic ecosystem, and professional operating model provided students with a vivid picture of life inside a leading technology enterprise. The experience helped them better understand a workplace culture that values innovation, creativity, and continuous learning.

Experiential Learning for Future Career Success at VNG
A company visit offers more than a glimpse into the workplace; it provides students with the opportunity to bridge classroom learning and real-world practice.
Through their experience at VNG, students gained valuable insights into career pathways in the technology industry, industry expectations, and the competencies required to thrive in an increasingly competitive job market. Furthermore, this experience allows students to reflect on their interests and strengths, helping them build a more suitable pathway for learning and career development.
For students in the DMU–HSU International Joint Program, the activity also expands their global perspective of the industry, equipping them with greater readiness to adapt to an international working environment in the future.

Bridging High School Students with Real-World Careers
Through connections from the DMU–HSU Program, Vinschool students also joined the experience at VNG.
There, they explored emerging trends in the technology industry and interacted with business experts and students from international programs. These practical experiences strengthen students’ foundation for selecting their field of study, while giving them a clearer understanding of the university environment and future job market demands.
The activity also acts as a bridge between students and businesses, providing a more realistic perspective on learning and career development in the digital era.

Strengthening Industry Connections and Learning Experiences
At HSU, field trips play a vital role in the training journey. With a strong network of partners across diverse fields, HSU continuously creates opportunities for students to take part in field trips in companies, internships, and hands-on learning with industry experts.
These activities not only help students stay up to date with industry trends but also enable them to refine their professional thinking, expand their networks, and build a strong foundation before entering the job market.
The experiential trip to VNG exemplifies HSU’s commitment to a practice-oriented learning environment, in which students are given opportunities to explore, grow, and proactively develop their future career paths.
