HSU Students Gain Hands-On Experience with Odoo ERP
On October 14, 2026, Hoa Sen University (HSU), in collaboration with Odoo, organized the workshop “Management Information Systems: Driving Business Transformation in the Digital Age”, allowing students to explore business management tools through real-world scenarios. Under the guidance of Mr. To Ton Thanh, Country Manager of the Odoo Education Program in Viet Nam, students explored how an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system connects data and processes across business functions, including inventory management, purchasing, manufacturing, and e-commerce.
Exploring ERP Systems and Integrated Business Operations
What happens after a customer places an order? Behind that single transaction, multiple departments work together, from sales and warehousing to purchasing and production. When these functions share the same management system, information flows seamlessly across departments, helping businesses track progress, coordinate operations, and make informed decisions.
On October 14, 2026, Hoa Sen University (HSU) partnered with Odoo to organize the workshop “Management Information Systems: Driving Business Transformation in the Digital Age”, allowing students to move beyond theoretical concepts and explore digital business management in practice.
Led by Mr. To Ton Thanh, Country Manager of the Odoo Education Program in Viet Nam, the workshop introduced students to how enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems connect business functions through an integrated platform.

Practical Exploration of Processes from Warehousing to E-Commerce
The workshop allowed students to explore business operations from both sides of the process: overseeing the bigger picture and carrying out day-to-day tasks. Using Odoo, they examined how managers monitor workflows and how operational staff handle specific activities through modules for inventory management, purchasing, manufacturing, and e-commerce.
Through these practical exercises, students saw how one business activity can set several others in motion. For instance, an incoming order may require stock checks, material purchases, and adjustments to production plans. Understanding these links helped students connect individual processes to a company’s wider operations. With data connected across departments, businesses could track progress, coordinate workflows, and make better-informed decisions.
Through their hands-on experience with Odoo, students gained a clearer understanding of how information systems brought business processes together and supported day-to-day operations.

Access to Digital Learning and Development Opportunities
Beyond the hands-on activities, students were introduced to Odoo’s learning resources, including the Edu Database, E-learning platform, and online webinars.
These resources gave students more opportunities to explore the system independently, reinforce their knowledge, and see how business management technology could apply in different professional contexts beyond the workshop.
Through practical tools and supplementary learning resources, students gained a clearer understanding of how their specialized knowledge connected with business operations. The experience also strengthened their preparation for a workplace increasingly driven by data and digital technology.

Bridging Academic Knowledge and Business Practice
As digital technology continues to reshape business operations, understanding how systems and data work together has become increasingly important.
Through its collaboration with Odoo, HSU has offered students an opportunity to explore these connections firsthand, apply classroom knowledge to practical scenarios, and broaden their perspectives on managing businesses in the digital age.
