Cybersecurity Challenges in the Digital Transformation Era

At the signing ceremony, Major General Le Minh Manh noted that the rapid pace of digital transformation across sectors has heightened the need for robust cybersecurity measures. He also stressed that cybersecurity encompassed more than the protection of information systems and sovereignty in cyberspace; it played an important role in preventing and combating illegal activities, maintaining security and public order, and creating a safe and healthy digital environment.

“The growing demands present significant challenges, as current resources, from skilled personnel and financial investment to technological capabilities, remain limited”, he emphasized.

He further claimed that addressing these challenges required concerted efforts from government agencies, organizations, businesses, universities, and research institutes. In this context, closer collaboration between educational institutions, professional organizations, and businesses offers a practical way to bridge resource gaps, facilitate knowledge and experience sharing, and strengthen the development of cybersecurity talent.

Strengthening Collaboration in Cybersecurity Training

Under the MOU, HSU and the Southern Chapter of NCA will work together to deliver in-depth training programs, workshops, and knowledge exchange activities, helping participants strengthen their expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, data security, cybersecurity, and other emerging technology fields.

Beyond training activities, HSU and the Southern Chapter of NCA also aim to host professional forums, academic competitions, and information security awareness campaigns. Through these initiatives, students can deepen their technical knowledge, stay informed about emerging technologies, and gain a closer understanding of real-world cybersecurity challenges.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut announced the enrollment of HSU’s first cohort in the Cybersecurity program, underscoring the University’s commitment to developing talent in this increasingly important field. Moreover, he stated that the rapidly evolving nature of cybersecurity made partnerships with professional organizations and industry experts essential to aligning training with changing sector needs, facilitating the exchange of up-to-date expertise, and providing learners with more opportunities to apply their knowledge in practice.

Building on the MOU, HSU and NCA Southern Chapter will promote knowledge exchange, organize professional seminars, and invite Association experts to participate in teaching and research. By bringing experienced practitioners into academic activities, the partnership will help HSU faculty and students connect theoretical knowledge with current industry requirements, access specialized technical guidance, and better understand how cybersecurity expertise is applied in practice.

Strengthening Career Pathways for HSU Students

The partnership also aims to strengthen connections between HSU students and NCA’s extensive network of experts, organizations, and businesses, creating clearer pathways from academic learning to employment. Through recruitment networking activities, career fairs, and professional exchanges, students will have more opportunities to understand industry expectations, shape their career plans, and connect with potential internship and employment opportunities.

These opportunities are especially relevant to cybersecurity students, as organizations increasingly require professionals capable of protecting data, securing information systems, and responding effectively to cyber threats.

In addition to training and career guidance, both sides plan to share insights into cybersecurity risks, exchange professional knowledge, and discuss technical approaches relevant to their areas of cooperation. This exchange will help students connect academic learning with practical industry challenges and strengthen the foundational knowledge and skills essential for their future professional development.

Integrating Practical Experience into Digital Economy Training

By partnering with the NCA Southern Chapter, HSU continues to strengthen its engagement with industry, laying the groundwork for joint efforts in training, research, knowledge exchange, and career development.

These collaborations aim to connect classroom learning with real-world requirements, giving students more opportunities to update their technological knowledge, develop practical competencies, and prepare for emerging career opportunities in the digital economy.

Through the partnership with the NCA Southern Chapter, HSU is creating more opportunities for students to engage with industry experts while deepening its connections with professional organizations working to advance information security and cybersecurity in an increasingly digital world.
