Discover the Power of Dance Movement Therapy with HSU Students
Some emotions are difficult to put into words, yet the body can express them through movement. Exploring this connection, the “Dance Movement Therapy” workshop, organized by the Institute of Psychology at Hoa Sen University, offered students a new way to understand how the body, movement, and emotions interact.
Exploring emotions through dance and movement
On August 18, 2026, Hoa Sen University (HSU) hosted the “Dance Movement Therapy” workshop, creating an open and welcoming space for participants to explore the connection between the body, movement, emotions, and mental well-being. The workshop featured Ms. Bui Tuyet Minh, MA, a specialist in Dance Movement Therapy and Founder of Vietnam Dance/Movement Therapy (VDMT), who introduced students to new perspectives on exploring and understanding this field.

Through professional insights and experiential activities, HSU students learned about Dance Movement Therapy and explored the connection between the body, movement, and emotions. The movement exercises were designed to be simple and accessible, allowing participants to observe their bodies, express emotions, and connect more deeply with their inner experiences.

What makes the workshop distinctive is that knowledge is not only shared but also transformed into personal experience. Each movement becomes an opportunity for students to observe themselves, recognize their emotions, and deepen their connection with their inner selves.

This experiential approach also reflects the spirit of “Self-directed”, a value HSU strives to foster among its students: learners actively explore, identify their needs, and turn knowledge into practical skills for everyday life. At HSU, learning becomes more meaningful when it leads to self-discovery, helping learners turn what they understand into real value.
