Strengthening Global Ties: HSU Greets California State University, Fullerton for Collaboration

Strengthening Global Ties: On the morning of July 31, 2025, Hoa Sen University (HSU) enthusiastically welcomed a delegation of lecturers and graduate students from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) for a dynamic exchange. Embodying the spirit of collaboration and mutual respect, this event highlights HSU’s desire to deepen academic friendship with CSUF for years to come.

Addressing the CSUF delegation at the welcome meeting, Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam, Vice Provost of HSU and a CSUF PhD graduate, remarked, “It is a special pleasure to welcome friends, colleagues, and students from CSUF. This occasion not only brings me back to the University that shaped me, but it also inspires us to forge a new path for future generations to follow, and even surpass”.

She also emphasized that education was not limited to the four walls of the classroom or contained within national borders at HSU. Education needed to be “lived” through real experiences, through a global perspective, and genuine connections between people.

At the event, the CSUF delegation and HSU lecturers and students had the opportunity to exchange and share experiences about living and studying abroad. During this exchange, students from both universities benefited from the valuable insights of two representative lecturers and distinguished CSUF alumni: Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam, Vice Provost of HSU, and Dr. Do Thi Hoai Thu, Head of Education at SEAMEO RETRAC.

Typically, they shared essential things when studying and living abroad, such as building a strong network, cultivating calmness, confidence, and resilience to persevere, setting clear personal goals, and proactively seeking assistance by asking questions… 

The impressive creativity showcased in the graduation projects from Hoa Sen’s Faculty of Design and Arts left such a strong impression on Anthony, a graduate student from CSUF, that he expressed a desire to return to Viet Nam and teach at the university.

HSU not only offers many global learning opportunities for Vietnamese students but is also a destination for international students, with training programs in conjunction with international universities, such as the DMU-HSU collaboration. Through this collaboration, HSU students can earn a degree from the affiliated university while studying in Vietnam. At the same time, with international standard teaching quality, HSU students can also transfer to study abroad very easily.
