Hoa Sen University and Chibooks Join Hands to Promote Reading Culture and Inspire Knowledge Sharing

Hoa Sen University has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Chi Cultural Joint Stock Company (Chibooks), opening up new opportunities to promote reading culture, enrich the academic experience, and create practical learning opportunities for students.

As part of the event, author and journalist Do Quang Tuan Hoang joined a discussion on “Exploring the Richness of Vietnamese Indigenous Culture”, drawing significant interest from lecturers and students alike.

On June 4, 2026, the MOU signing ceremony between Hoa Sen University (HSU) and Chi Cultural Joint Stock Company (Chibooks) welcomed Dr. Le Van Ut, HSU Vice President for Scientific Research; Ms. Vo Hong Hanh, MA, Director of the HSU Library; Dr. Tran Thi Cam Tu, Dean of the Institute of International Education and Global Engagement; Ms. Nguyen Le Chi, Director of Chi Culture Joint Stock Company (Chibooks); author and journalist Do Quang Tuan Hoang; and a large number of HSU lecturers and students.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Le Van Ut highlighted the growing importance of partnerships between universities and publishing and cultural organizations as higher education placed greater emphasis on experiential learning and lifelong learning.

According to him, the collaboration between HSU and Chibooks would broaden students’ access to knowledge, encourage independent learning, enhance research competencies, and create stronger connections between academic learning and practical experience.

Empowering Students Through Learning, Experience, and Career Opportunities

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on a wide range of initiatives, including themed book fairs, annual Reading Culture Festivals, seminars, and exchange programs featuring authors, writers, and translators from Viet Nam and abroad.

Furthermore, HSU and Chibooks will co-organize academic and cultural events on campus and at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, creating more opportunities for interaction and knowledge sharing among students and the wider community of book enthusiasts.

Among the initiatives introduced under the partnership is the “Tủ sách Lan tỏa yêu thương” (suggested translation: Sharing Love Through Bookshelves) project, designed to expand access to high-quality learning resources to support study, research, and teaching. The project enables students to engage more deeply with valuable publications, expand their knowledge, and foster a culture of reading on campus.

Beyond academic enrichment, the partnership also provides students with opportunities to experience professional working environments, undertake internships, and explore careers in publishing, media, culture, and creative industries.

Uncovering Vietnamese Culture Through Stories from Real Life

Following the signing ceremony, HSU students participated in a special exchange with author and journalist Do Quang Tuan Hoang, whose notable works include “Ngàn năm trà Việt”, “Việt Nam ăn mặc thong dong”, and “Vắt qua những ngàn mây”.
