Hoa Sen University – HSU

HSU 45th Graduation Ceremony: 95.6% of HSU Graduates Already Employed

95.6% of Hoa Sen University students have secured employment before graduation, a remarkable milestone announced at the 45th Graduation Ceremony, held on July 30, 2026. More than a measure of graduate employability, this achievement reflects the strength of Hoa Sen University’s applied education model, where academic learning is integrated with industry practice, internships, and real-world experiences. By the time students graduate, many have already gained the skills, professional exposure, and confidence needed to begin their careers and thrive in an increasingly competitive labor market.

Nearly 1,200 Graduates Entering a New Chapter

In a ceremony filled with pride, gratitude, and unforgettable emotions, nearly 1,200 graduates of Hoa Sen University (HSU) marked the completion of their university journey and began a new chapter filled with opportunity, purpose, and possibility. Each name announced on stage represented more than an academic achievement. Furthermore, it reflected years of dedication, perseverance, and growth, as well as the unwavering support of families, lecturers, mentors, and industry partners who accompanied students throughout their journey at HSU.

At the 45th Graduation Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut, HSU President, reminded graduates that their learning journey did not end with graduation. He further encouraged them to remain curious, to dare to pursue new opportunities, to take responsibility for their decisions, and to continuously grow to create meaningful value in the future.

“The world we enter after graduation will not ask all of us to follow the same path. It will ask us to create value, to solve problems, and to make someone else’s life a little better than it was before. Today, we celebrate the names that are announced. Tomorrow, may we become the names people turn to when they need courage, kindness, leadership, or hope. That is the greatest achievement any graduate can earn”, he emphasized.

95.6% employed before graduation, with many programs reaching a 100% employment rate

Beyond the pride and recognition celebrated on stage, these achievements are further reflected in the strong career outcomes of HSU graduates. A survey conducted by the HSU Student Center at the Grad Fair held before graduation revealed that 95.6% of students had secured employment before receiving their degrees. This achievement marks the third consecutive year that HSU has sustained an employment rate above 95%, with the rate reaching 95% in 2025, 96% among the January 2026 graduation class, and 95.6% among the July 2026 graduation class. These results reaffirm HSU’s commitment to preparing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in their future careers.

Moreover, HSU students are not only securing employment early, but are also gradually stepping into the international labor market through interactive global workshops and competitions. In many fields of study, about a quarter of students worked for foreign companies or companies with foreign investments, while in the Information Technology program, the figure exceeded 47%. Some fields of study also reported that over 24% of students chose to start their own businesses immediately after graduation.

Industry-Connected Learning Through Real-World Experience

Behind these impressive employment figures are the inspiring journeys of graduates who have actively prepared for their future careers. Among them is Ms. Nguyen Tran My Uyen, University Valedictorian with a GPA of 3.97, who gained hands-on experience in her field through an internship from her second year and joined Ernst & Young Vietnam before graduation. Beyond her academic excellence, My Uyen demonstrated strong commitment to professional development by serving as Head of the Accounting and Auditing Club and achieving first place in two professional competitions in 2025: “Chief Accountant for a Day” and “Behind the Data”.

Continuing the celebration of academic excellence, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Giang, Dean of the HSU Institute of Graduate Studies and Leadership, awarded the 45th University Valedictorian a 70% tuition scholarship for the HSU Master’s program.

Beyond academic achievements are the personal journeys that define each graduate’s success. Ms. Le Nguyen Phuong Thao, Business Administration graduate, is one such example. Having once doubted her own abilities, Phuong Thao gradually built her confidence in HSU’s environment, a place that embraces diversity and encourages students to grow. Following graduation, she earned a full scholarship from the Chinese government, continued her studies in a master’s program at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), and assumed various roles connecting Vietnamese students there.

For Phuong Thao, the skills and experiences nurtured at HSU, from independent thinking and cross-cultural communication to self-directed learning, have laid a strong foundation for her journey into the international environment.

Empowered Self-Determination

This year’s graduation season is also a celebration of inspiring journeys that transcend personal boundaries. At 40, Mrs. Nhan Thi Lan achieved the distinction of becoming the Valedictorian of the Fashion Design program. Before embarking on her university journey, she had already established herself as the owner and operator of a fashion design and sewing training center in Ho Chi Minh City. She chose to return to the classroom not to seek new job opportunities, but to invest in knowledge, renew her design thinking, and keep pace with technological advancements.

Yet, the journey was not without its challenges. Once considering herself almost “technologically illiterate”, Lan had to overcome numerous difficulties as she learned to work with design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD. Although her initial scores were not as high as expected, Lan continued moving forward with determination. Through proactive learning and additional classes outside of HSU, she gradually conquered challenging subjects and achieved near-perfect results. Beyond her design studies, she also spent over three months independently improving her English to surpass the B2 proficiency level.

“I once entered my 40s with almost no confidence in my ability to use technology, yet today I can confidently work with fashion design software. HSU has given me more than a modern, internationally oriented education; it has helped me develop a systematic design mindset and leverage technology to grow my business”, Lan commented.

From a Degree to a Journey of Value Creation

Addressing the graduating class, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut highlighted three essential values that every HSU alumnus ought to carry beyond graduation: preserving humanity in an era of intelligence, mastering one’s own life in a changing world, and creating value in an increasingly competitive environment.

He further claimed that success was not defined solely by titles or income, but also by the meaningful value individuals created for the community through their work and choices.
