AI Applications in Businesses: A Defining Trend of the Digital Age

On April 18, 2026, the Institute of Graduate Studies and Leadership at Hoa Sen University (HSU) successfully held the HSGA Learn & Connect talk, which attracted many participants from the Hoa Sen Graduate Alumni (HSGA), students, lecturers, and distinguished guests.
In today’s fast-changing technological landscape, the use of AI in scientific research and business operations is becoming an essential capability that helps individuals and organizations boost efficiency, adapt rapidly, and sustain competitive advantage. 

At the workshop “AI Applications in Business”, Mr. Vu Do Tuan Huy, President of Hoa Sen Alumni and an expert in AI Strategy, Technology, and Applications, offered valuable insights into the growing impact of AI on organizational operations. Through examples of widely used tools and an analysis of adoption rates, he demonstrated that businesses had begun integrating AI into core operations to increase efficiency, boost productivity, and improve decision quality.

Additionally, he pointed out that in today’s fiercely competitive landscape, mastering AI and leveraging it effectively are crucial for business expansion. However, he stressed that the main concern is not the number of tools used, but rather how companies develop a cohesive AI strategy that aligns value creation with proper data use and risk control.

Bridging AI and Research Innovation: Optimizing the Entire Process 

During the workshop, Dr. Hoang Duc Sinh, Lecturer at the International University, Vietnam National University HCMC, shared an academic perspective on how AI was applied in scientific research. Through clear explanations of AI’s core operating principles, he enabled attendees to see how the technology could support every stage of the research process, from generating ideas and defining problems to collecting data, analyzing results, and completing scientific papers.

Furthermore, he stated that the application of AI in scientific research not only saved time but also contributed to improving research quality when learners used it as an intelligent support tool. However, he emphasized that AI could not fully replace the role of researchers. Therefore, he claimed that its use had to be accompanied by critical thinking and strict adherence to academic integrity to ensure accuracy and scientific value.

Community Insights into AI Applications in the New Era

Beyond expert presentations, the program featured practical discussions and feedback from guests, students, alumni, and participants interested in AI applications.

Ms. Vu Thi Nham, MBA student of the 18th cohort and Founder of Hospiway Vietnam, shared that analyzing AI adoption levels in businesses had provided her with a deeply practical perspective. She emphasized that the focus was not on AI’s capabilities, but on how people applied AI to protect data integrity while generating sustainable value.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tao Thanh Quyen, MAE student of the 7th cohort and current Head of the Southern Office of Viet Nam VPBOX Education Development Joint Stock Company, shared that:
“The program has helped me gain a clearer understanding of how AI is applied in scientific research, particularly in systematizing research processes, identifying underlying theories, building models, and defining research variables according to both domestic and international trends. This knowledge has contributed to greater efficiency and offered clearer direction for my research journey”.
