NEAS-Accredited Language Proficiency: Why HSU Students Stand Out to Employers

According to a June 2025 survey, a remarkable 50% of students in many Hoa Sen University majors were already working at foreign or foreign-invested companies before graduation. This success, along with securing internships at multinational corporations from their second year and leading academic competitions entirely in English, highlights how Hoa Sen University students’ language proficiency – developed through the NEAS-certified international communication English program – gives them the confidence and skills to excel in the global job market.

HSU’s 4th consecutive NEAS certification

On the morning of August 26, 2025, Mr. Adam Kilburn, Chief Executive Officer and Public Officer of NEAS, awarded the 4th consecutive NEAS Quality Certificate to Hoa Sen University (HSU). This is a significant milestone that reaffirms HSU’s reputation in foreign language training. Furthermore, it creates a strong foundation for students to confidently navigate the global learning and working environment, while also demonstrating the university’s pioneering role in ensuring educational quality. 

In his address, Mr. Adam Kilburn praised HSU for its “deep-seated passion” for learning, which he said was evident in the faculty’s meticulous work to meet and exceed NEAS’s comprehensive standards. 

According to Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam, Vice Provost of HSU, she stated that the NEAS Certification served as a stepping stone for the university’s future growth, rather than a final goal. She believed that through their partnership, HSU and NEAS would forge a path of mutual growth, united by a shared commitment to advancing international education.

An affirmation of HSU’s leadership in English training programs

Later in the event, Mr. Adam Kilburn, Dr. Ho Thi My Linh, Acting Head of HSU’s Office of Testing – Quality Assurance, and MA. Tran Quang Hai, Director of HSU’s General English Program, participated in a discussion on the benefits of getting accredited by NEAS Quality Assessment.

During the discussion, Mr. Adam Kilburn highlighted that NEAS was not merely a measure of international quality but was also committed to raising lecturers with a clear vision and a true understanding of students’ needs. Moreover, schools that meet NEAS standards could join the global club and access free teaching materials on the website to improve training quality.

Dr. Ho Thi My Linh added: “Lecturers can visit the Professional Development section of the NEAS website for more information on professional growth. Additionally, they can apply to become a NEAS Assessor”.

In addition, MA. Tran Quang Hai emphasized that NEAS was a key part of HSU’s strategy, as the university fully understands the value the certification brings.  Achieving NEAS certification affirmed HSU’s position as a leader in English language training and proved its steadfast commitment to developing students.

At the end of the event, Dr. Ho Thi My Linh affirmed that studying in an environment with prestigious international accreditations was a competitive advantage for students in the international labor market.
