Learning Beyond the Classroom: HSU Faculty of Business Students Explore Real-World Businesses
Business knowledge becomes more meaningful when students see how it translates into practice. Through corporate field trips, students of the Faculty of Business at HSU gain firsthand exposure to business operations, production processes, and professional working environments. As an integral part of the learning journey at HSU, these experiences begin from the first year, helping students develop practical management perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of how businesses operate in the real world.
Experiential Learning from the First Year
What does managing a business look like in practice?
How do organizations coordinate their operations and resources?
For students of the Faculty of Business at Hoa Sen University (HSU), these questions find clearer answers through firsthand experiences. From the first year, students participate in company field trips and practical learning activities that bring business concepts closer to reality. Rather than relying solely on classroom lectures, they have opportunities to observe business operations, explore professional working environments, and develop an early understanding of their future careers.
From Yakult Binh Duong to HEINEKEN Vung Tau: Insights into Manufacturing and Business Operations
In late October 2026, the Faculty of Business organized field trips to the Yakult Binh Duong and HEINEKEN Vung Tau factories for its students. These visits provided practical exposure to manufacturing processes, operational management, and the organizational systems businesses use to coordinate their activities and resources.

Beyond observing production processes, students had the opportunity to see the concepts covered in courses such as Management and Business Operations Management come to life. They explored how organizations structure their workflows, coordinate activities across departments, and keep daily operations running smoothly. These firsthand observations helped students connect theoretical knowledge with practical management challenges.

Broadening Experiential Learning: Exploring Businesses, Institutions, and Local Communities
The experiential learning journey also took students to Minh Phu Seafood Joint Stock Company, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Ca Mau Province, providing opportunities to explore different organizational and operational contexts. At each destination, students observed distinct approaches to management and organizational activities, from corporate business operations and institutional administration to local development. These experiences broadened their understanding of how management principles are applied across different sectors.

Beyond the field visits, the program created opportunities for students to connect and learn through the joint involvement of three student clubs: the Accounting and Auditing Club (AAC), Hoa Sen Financial Analyst Club (HFA), and GenZ Research Club (ZRC).
Representing different areas of interest, including accounting and auditing, financial analysis, and scientific research, the clubs brought diverse perspectives to the experience. Their collaboration encouraged students to prepare together, exchange ideas, build connections with businesses, and develop teamwork skills while gaining practical industry insights.
Unlocking New Perspectives on Business Management
Through its partnerships with businesses, organizations, and local communities, HSU strives to create a learning environment where students go beyond acquiring knowledge to actively observe, gain firsthand experience, and explore how concepts are applied in practice. Therefore, professional competence develops through more than lectures and textbooks; it takes shape through hands-on experiences, interactions with industry professionals, and opportunities to learn from real working environments.
For first-year students, these field trips mark an important starting point in discovering the business world, exploring their interests, and shaping their academic and career aspirations. Furthermore, for students in their second year and beyond, these experiences provide a valuable opportunity to put their growing professional knowledge into perspective by comparing classroom concepts with actual business practices. Moreover, they can sharpen their observational and analytical abilities while developing stronger teamwork skills.

By bringing students closer to the business world, the Faculty of Business makes experiential learning an ongoing part of their academic journey, helping them build practical insights and prepare for the next steps in their careers.
