DMU-HSU New Students Embark on Their International Study Journey
The DMU-HSU Orientation Week gives new students of the 2026 cohort an opportunity to explore their study program, UK-standard learning methods, and the diverse learning experiences they will encounter in an international educational environment.
DMU-HSU Program Overview and New Learning Environment
Recently, the 2026 cohort students of the DMU-HSU Program at Hoa Sen University (HSU) met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Duc, HSU Vice President; Dr. Tran Thi Cam Tu, Dean of the Institute of International Education and Global Engagement; and Dr. Edward Hockings, Director of the DMU-HSU Program, as they began their new learning journey at HSU.
The meeting gave students and parents a closer look at what their DMU-HSU journey would look like, including the training program, support services, and international learning experiences ahead. They also discovered the DMU Student Hub and activities created especially for DMU-HSU students. With a better understanding of where they would learn, who would support them, and what opportunities awaited them, the DMU-HSU students took their first steps toward an active and connected university experience.
Learning Approaches and AI in Education
Orientation Week provided new students with more than an introduction to their study program. It gave them a practical foundation for navigating a new learning environment, from getting familiar with DMU Learning Platforms and the Learning Zone to exploring British-style learning methods, AI applications in education, student services, and key study regulations.
With a clearer understanding of the tools and support available, students can gradually build effective study habits, make use of learning resources, and actively shape their university journey from the start.
Moreover, Orientation Week offered them a glimpse into the international experiences awaiting them through Transition, Exchange, and Summer School opportunities available to DMU-HSU students. Learning about these pathways from the beginning helps students see how their university journey can extend beyond Viet Nam and connect them with new learning environments and experiences.
Initial Preparations at HSU
Orientation Week is not only about getting ready for the classroom. During the first two days, DMU-HSU students also completed the essential preparations for their new academic year, from setting up the HSU App and taking their Student ID photos to getting measured for uniforms and exploring the campus on a Campus Tour. These first experiences help students become familiar with their new surroundings and feel more at home at HSU.
From finding their way around campus and exploring learning platforms to knowing where to seek support, the first experiences at HSU help new students gradually understand how learning and university life come together.
More than a period of familiarization, the first two days of Orientation Week have given students a practical foundation for understanding their curriculum, taking an active role in their learning, and preparing for the international educational environment at DMU-HSU.
