MOOT COURT COMPETITION – THE SPECIAL COURSE OF LAW STUDENTS OF HOA SEN UNIVERSITY

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Law of Hoa Sen University coordinated with the District 10 Lawyers Association and the Summer Steering Committee of Ward 14, District 10 to organize a mock trial for the criminal case “Violence against Children” and provide consultation. , legal aid in 2023 at Vo Truong Toan Primary School on August 5, 2023.

The mock trial has an easy-to-understand, vivid, and suitable presentation for the people, so it has achieved excellent results in propaganda and dissemination of laws on preventing and combating violence against children such as Children’s Law; Law on domestic violence prevention; Penal code; Criminal Procedure Code…; With the elaborate and thoughtful preparation of Dr. Trinh Duy Thuyen (Law program director) The trial took place by current law; The content is based on real situations, so it has an impact on people’s awareness and thinking. The best content is the debate between the prosecutor and the lawyers participating in the trial with analysis and evaluation of the legal aspects of the case. Based on the debate results, the Trial Council made decisions that were fair, reasonable, and by the law, satisfying the viewers. After finishing the Mock Trial, Dr. Trinh Duy Thuyen, a law student at Hoa Sen University, also coordinated with the Lawyers’ Association, Women’s Union, and Youth Union of District 10 to provide free legal advice and assistance. All questions from students and parents about the legal provisions on how to prevent and combat violence against children and measures to protect children when subjected to violence have been given specific instructions.

The mock trial and free legal consultation activities have contributed to raising the awareness of students, parents, and social workers about the law on child protection. These activities have helped students, parents, and social workers know how to prevent and combat violence against children and protect children when being abused. Thereby, Hoa Sen University Law students also had great experiences in preparing for the new school year.
