As part of the student exchange program between Hoa Sen University and Indiana State University (USA), the academic workshop “Gender & Development – Heritage & Tourism” offers a dynamic multicultural platform for students to engage with international perspectives on urban heritage, tourism development, and community values across Southeast Asia.

The program features the participation of Taylor Easum, Associate Professor of History, Indiana State University, USA.

At the workshop, he will guide participants through the fascinating history of Southeast Asia’s World Heritage sites, with a special focus on Thailand’s cultural treasures, including Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, and the Chiang Mai World Heritage nomination.

Through a historical and urban development lens, the discussion will highlight the complex relationship between heritage preservation, tourism, economic growth, and community development.

More than an academic session, the program provides students with a vibrant space to expand global thinking, enhance intercultural communication, and connect with international peers in a truly engaging learning environment.
