What makes a research topic valuable? Where can we find an academic gap worth exploring? And how can a research idea move from the classroom to an international publication? The scientific conference “Research and International Publications in Hospitality and Tourism” at Hoa Sen University (HSU) offers a practical look at how researchers can identify promising topics by examining international research data and publications across Tourism, Restaurants, Hotels, and Events.

From customer experience and sustainable tourism to digital transformation, AI, tourist behavior, and service management, participants will discover what researchers are focusing on today, while learning how to identify areas that remain open for further exploration and international publication.

Beyond identifying research gaps, the workshop introduces practical approaches to tracing articles, authors, journals, and thematic clusters, helping participants uncover research opportunities and develop data-driven topics grounded in evidence rather than intuition. The program also connects research with real-world business challenges, showing how research findings can contribute to customer experience, F&B operations, revenue management, destination development, event organization, and sustainable development.

Speaker: Dr. Le Van Ut, Vice President for Scientific Research and Dean of the Institute for Scientometrics and Research Administration Policies (SARAP)
