On December 12, 2025, Ms. Le Thi Mong Tuyen, a student in the Online Bachelor of Business Administration program at Hoa Sen University (HSU), won the gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team at SEA Games 33 held in Thailand.
Mong Tuyen and Tam Quang opened the exciting final match by taking a strong 6 – 0 lead against their Thai rivals. The home shooters quickly responded, leveling the score and turning up the pressure to gain the advantage.

The match was tightly contested, with the score tied at 14 – 14 before the final shots. In the decisive moment, Mong Tuyen and Tam Quang remained composed, scoring 10.7 and 10.3 points respectively, surpassing the Thai team’s total of 20.7 and securing a 16 – 14 victory.

Previously, their strong performance was foreshadowed in the qualifying round, where they led the leaderboard with 624.7 points, narrowly edging their Thai rivals by 1.3 points. The victory in the final was a well-deserved outcome, reflecting the dedication and precise performance of the two young athletes.

HSU students’ standout achievements across SEA Games competitions

Not only Ms. Mong Tuyen, but also Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, an HSU Online Business Administration student, delivered a breakout performance, playing a key role in propelling the Vietnamese women’s football team to the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33.

Bich Thuy scored a crucial goal that secured the Vietnamese team’s victory over Myanmar in the final group stage match, ensuring their advancement to the next round.

Together, these HSU student-athletes showcased their perseverance, courage, and an unstoppable fighting spirit while proudly representing our nation.
