HSU Law Faculty Joins Forces to Say “No” to Domestic Violence

On the morning of November 22, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Hoa Sen University in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Dong Ward, the People’s Procuracy, and the People’s Court of Zone 10 (HCMC), successfully organized a mock trial with the theme “Promoting Legal Knowledge for a Violence-Free Family” in the local residential area.

The mock trial provides students with a valuable opportunity to engage with real-life legal scenarios, practice essential professional skills, and deepen their understanding of the litigation process, bringing to life the HSU Faculty of Law’s philosophy of “experiential learning”.

Hands-On Activities in Honor of the Vietnam Law Day

The mock trial, held under the theme “Promoting Legal Knowledge for a Violence-Free Family”, was a significant initiative in support of the Vietnam Law Day (November 9) and the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention (November 15 – December 15, 2025). This year’s campaign highlighted the message: “Empowering Women and Girls with Safety and Equality in the Digital Age”.

Thanks to its vivid and realistic simulation, the mock trial drew nearly 200 participants, including local residents, union members, and association representatives. Their engagement reflected the community’s increasing awareness of gender equality, domestic violence prevention, and the collective duty to safeguard vulnerable groups.

HSU Faculty of Law’s Commitment to an Experiential Learning Philosophy

Impressively, every role in the trial was performed by HSU Law students. They immersed themselves as members of the Trial Council, Prosecutors, Lawyers, and litigants, demonstrating striking confidence, polished reasoning, and thoughtful handling of each situation.

This extraordinary practice environment allows HSU Law students to:

• Bring classroom knowledge into real-life legal scenarios;
• Refine their litigation skills, legal thinking, and professional demeanor;
• Boost their confidence when presenting before a crowd; and
• Better understand the vital roles and responsibilities of legal practitioners in the community.

Beyond serving as a mock trial, it provides real career exposure that helps HSU students shape their future paths early.

Strengthening the Faculty of Law’s Partnerships with Leading Legal Units

To further strengthen connections with units in the legal field, the HSU Faculty of Law has promoted many professional cooperation activities. On the morning of November 21, 2025, the Faculty signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with four important partners, including: Vietnam Lawyer Journal, VSE Lawyers Limited Liability Law Company, Khanh Binh Phu Law Office, and Huynh Nguyen Consulting Company Limited.

The event represents a significant milestone in developing a strong network of professional partners, while underscoring the Faculty of Law’s dedication to delivering an “experiential learning” environment for the students.

Through these partnerships, HSU Law students will have greater access to a professional legal setting where they can practice, learn, and participate in academic activities guided by seasoned lawyers and legal experts. This serves as a vital foundation for consolidating their knowledge, honing litigation skills, providing legal consultation, and navigating practical cases with confidence.

The strengthened cooperation serves as clear evidence of the HSU Faculty of Law’s ongoing efforts to connect students with a high-quality labor market. With this orientation, the faculty strives to develop future legal professionals who possess strong knowledge, refined skills, and the confidence to thrive in a legal field that values practical ability and specialized expertise more than ever.

Distinguished Strengths of the HSU Faculty of Law

The training program of HSU Faculty of Law (Academic year 2025-2026) includes: Law, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, Economic Law, Digital Business Law, and International Trade Law.

Embracing the philosophy of “experiential learning”, the HSU Faculty of Law develops internationally aligned training programs inspired by top legal institutions worldwide. Students gain a solid grounding in legal knowledge through approximately 600 internship hours across courts, procuracies, bar associations, law firms, and government agencies. They also strengthen their integration capacity, as nearly one-third of specialized courses are taught entirely in English.

Moving beyond theoretical learning, students strengthen their professional competencies in the exclusive Debate Practice Room and through hands-on courses in technology, AI, and legal software. They are mentored by esteemed lecturers who are practicing lawyers, controllers, and legal specialists with degrees from prestigious universities in Viet Nam and around the world.

Building on these strengths, the HSU Faculty of Law aims to develop graduates who are professionally competent, skilled, and socially responsible, ready to contribute to the community and the evolving legal profession.
