The 15th HSU Student Scientific Research Competition

HSU has officially launched the 15th Student Scientific Research Competition for the 2025 – 2026 academic year, aiming to promote knowledge exploration, cultivate independent research competence, and enhance students’ creative and critical thinking.

This annual activity plays a significant role in fostering a dynamic academic environment, encouraging innovation, and establishing a solid foundation for students to excel at the 28th Euréka Student Scientific Research Award in 2026.

Significance of the Student Scientific Research Competition

– This competition aims to cultivate a scientific research culture among students at Hoa Sen University (HSU), fostering independent thinking, knowledge exploration competencies, and a rigorous academic attitude, which serve as an essential foundation for future academic and professional development.

– Moreover, it fosters a dynamic environment in which students apply classroom knowledge to real-world contexts, generate innovative ideas, initiate start-up projects, and contribute socially meaningful solutions. Concurrently, it supports the development of essential teamwork, presentation, and debate skills required of global citizens.

– Furthermore, it also serves as a stepping stone for selecting outstanding research topics to represent HSU at the 28th Euréka Student Scientific Research Award. On this prestigious city-level academic platform, HSU students can showcase their capabilities and leave their intellectual mark.

Project Registration and Implementation

– Students may select their own research topics or choose from those proposed by lecturers;

– Each group may include up to five members, with one student designated as the group leader;

– Students are required to submit the topic registration form and detailed outline to the Faculty.

Throughout their research journey, students will take part in a series of specialized workshops and seminars hosted jointly by the Office of Research Affairs – Science Journal, equipping them with essential skills in research, data analysis, and professional scientific writing.

Topic Selection Criteria

To guarantee the relevance and effectiveness of each research project, proposed topics must possess scientific value, originality, and creativity, and be appropriate to students’ competencies and the university’s academic framework. Furthermore, topics should be practically applicable and strictly adhere to the legal regulations governing scientific and technological research.

Award Structure

• 01 First Prize;
• 02 Second Prizes;
• 03 Third Prizes; and,
• 10 Consolation Prizes.

Winning topics will be nominated for the 2026 Euréka Student Scientific Research Award, enabling broader academic exchange and affirming the research competence of HSU students within the academic community.

Implementation progress

Report Format Requirements

1. Details: Maximum 50 pages (not including appendices and references);
2. Presenting Language: Vietnamese or English;
3. Abstract: no more than 300 words (bilingual);
4. Keywords: 5–7 words (in alphabetical order); and,
5. Presentation Format: A4 paper, Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.

HSU Students’ Confidence in the Euréka Awards 2025 Stage

Recently, 11 student research projects from HSU were selected for the Semi-Final round of the Euréka Student Research Prize 2025, an outstanding milestone for HSU’s academic efforts.

These achievements honor the dedication of HSU students in turning research and creativity into real-world impact. They not only showcase strong independent thinking, analytical ability, and critical research skills but also affirm the capability and resilience of HSU students.
