From SEA Games to the CMAS World Cup

The 2024 CMAS 18th World Cup Finswimming Indoor – Round 4 marked the fourth stage of the 18th Indoor Finswimming World Cup, organized by the World Underwater Federation (CMAS). Held from September 6–8, 2024 in Phuket, Thailand, the event serves as a crucial competition within the CMAS series, allowing athletes to accumulate points in preparation for the final stage in Italy.

Competing in the tournament for the first time, athlete Nguyễn Thị Thảo overcame numerous strong contenders from around the world to finish the 50m apnea event in 17.32 seconds, earning the prestigious Bronze Medal for Vietnam. This achievement also opens up further opportunities for her to compete at higher levels in upcoming international competitions.

Previously, Nguyễn Thị Thảo had made a strong mark in Vietnam’s aquatic sports by consecutively winning a full set of Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals at SEAGAME 31 & 32. In 2023, she claimed four medals at the National Swimming and Finswimming Championships: 2 Golds in the 50m monofin and 50m apnea events, 1 Silver in the 50m bi-fins event, and 1 Bronze in the 100m bi-fins event.
