The relationship between gender discrimination and job satisfaction and mental health of Vietnamese workers

In June 2018, the faculty of the Department of Psychology participated in the Labor Research Competition organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA). position. The Department of Psychology participated in the competition with the research topic “The relationship between gender discrimination and job satisfaction and mental health of Vietnamese workers” by Master Pham Thi Thuy Tien. be the chairman.

At the end of July, the competition Organizing Committee announced the results of the research proposal round. In particular, the research team from Hoa Sen University along with four other projects won the research proposal round and received funding to continue implementation which will be completed by the end of 2018. The proposal has a research report. The best research will be awarded and presented at a national labor conference co-organized by the ILO and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in 2019.

With this study, the research team hopes to provide experimental evidence from the lens of psychology on gender perception in Vietnam. This will be the scientific basis for recommending domestic industrial relations policies in which the individual’s perspective is taken into account in addition to other traditional aspects of industrial relations such as union rights and bargaining. collective.
