School Violence: Hoa Sen University collaborated with Nam Viet Primary – Junior High – High School to organize a specialized seminar entitled: “Building beautiful friendships and saying no to School Violence”.

The event took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere with the participation of numerous students from all levels at Nam Viet School. Notably, the program featured the presence and guidance of Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Hoa Sen University.

Experts and Students “Decoding” School Violence
The highlight of the program was the presentation by Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam. With extensive expertise in both Jurisprudence and Psychology, Dr. Nam provided a multi-dimensional perspective on the issue of school violence—a pressing concern that extends far beyond mere physical altercations.
At the hall, Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam directly led students through an in-depth analysis of hypothetical scenarios based on real-life cases. The atmosphere became spirited as students were encouraged to raise questions and engage in rebuttal/critical debate. Provisions regarding children’s rights, as well as criminal and civil liabilities related to acts that infringe upon the physical integrity and honor of others, were skillfully integrated. This helped students clearly perceive the “legal boundaries” of spontaneous actions.
Furthermore, Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam helped students understand individual differences, anger management techniques, and the vital importance of empathy.
Building a “Culture of Saying No to School Violence” from the Classroom

In his keynote remarks, Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam emphasized that establishing positive relationships is not only significant during high school but also serves as essential preparation for students as they transition into university environments and society.
“School violence sometimes originates from minor misunderstandings or the silence of those involved. Building a beautiful friendship is the sturdiest shield to protect yourselves from negative impacts,” Dr. Nam shared.
The seminar assisted Nam Viet School students in better identifying modern forms of violence, particularly psychological violence and cyberbullying—hidden forms that inflict profound mental distress. Consequently, practical solutions such as “refusal skills,” “help-seeking skills,” and the “culture of apology and gratitude” were conveyed in a vivid and accessible manner.
Simultaneously, Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam directly engaged in discussion sessions, working with students to analyze practical situations and propose effective solutions for preventing and responding to acts of school violence.

Hoa Sen University’s Commitment to a Holistic Education Mission
The involvement of Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam from the Faculty of Law, Hoa Sen University, reaffirms the University’s strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This was not merely a conventional extracurricular activity but a practical initiative aimed at equipping students with “soft skill armor” before they enter the threshold of higher education.
A representative from the Leadership of the Faculty of Law shared that coordinating with K-12 schools is part of HSU’s efforts to contribute to the eradication of school violence, aiming to cultivate a young generation that develops holistically in both intellect and soul.
The program concluded with meaningful messages, leaving students with positive reflections on friendship and personal responsibility in maintaining a safe learning environment. This is a practical step contributing to the deterrence of violence and the propagation of kindness within the academic community.
