Charting a Learning Strategy for Law Students at the “Legal Study Methods” Talk Show

To equip law students with a solid foundation in learning methods, the Faculty of Law – Psychology organized a specialized talk show on “Legal Study Methods.” The event created a space for in-depth academic exchange between theory and professional practice.
Studying the Right Way – A Foundation for Success in Law
On the morning of October 26, the talk show on Legal Study Methods, hosted by HSU’s Faculty of Law – Psychology, attracted a large number of students and graduate students. The program is part of a series of academic activities designed to help students find suitable learning methods for the unique nature of the legal field, which demands high logic, critical thinking, and a firm grasp of the legal system.

The program was honored to welcome experienced speakers:
- Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa – Lecturer at the Faculty of International Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, who previously worked at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Justice and conducted research in France.
- Lawyer Nguyen Tuyet Nhung – Director of Nhung Nguyen Law Firm.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa – Lecturer at the Faculty of International Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
During the talk show, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa shared many effective learning methods, especially skills for analyzing legal texts, accessing international materials, and proactively developing critical thinking. She emphasized the importance of clearly defining learning goals from the beginning and continuously improving reasoning skills—an essential factor in the legal profession.

From a practical perspective, Lawyer Nguyen Tuyet Nhung shared stories rich with experience from her professional journey, including working with clients, litigating in court, and managing a business. She encouraged students to combine specialized knowledge with practical skills, especially time management, building a positive learning attitude, and preparing early for their careers.
Connecting Expertise and Practice to Enhance Training Quality
Representing the Faculty of Law – Psychology, Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam emphasized: “These specialized talk shows are essential activities for nurturing a mindset and spreading a passion for the legal profession among students.” He added that the law curriculum at HSU focuses on linking theory and practice, prioritizing interdisciplinary and professional skills, helping students develop holistically and meet the demands of the labor market.
