Words to Screen: Exploring the Literary – Cinematic Intersection with Liu Zhenyun
Hoa Sen University (HSU) is honored to be one of the host institutions for The First Viet Nam – China Literature Exchange 2025, an event organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and Chi Cultural JSC (Chibooks), in collaboration with the Chinese Writers Association.
The intersection of literature and cinema
At the exchange session themed “Exploring the Literary – Cinematic Intersection”, HSU students will have the opportunity to engage with writer and screenwriter Liu Zhenyun, one of the most influential figures in contemporary Chinese literature and cinema. During the session, he will share his creative journey, revealing how he brought literary works to life on screen and turned real-life moments into moving stories that touched the hearts of millions.

Liu Zhenyun is recognized as a master of language, known for his intelligence and distinctive style, with over 65 literary awards and 15 screenwriting honors. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Henan Provincial Literature and Arts Association, is a member of the Executive Committee of the China Writers Association, and is a Professor at Renmin University of China.
His works are highly praised for their seamless blend of life philosophy and cinematic storytelling, leaving a strong mark on contemporary Chinese culture.

The program will also feature the participation of Dr. Ho Minh Quang, Vice President of the Viet Nam – China Friendship Association, and Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Head of the Department of Chinese at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
