Quantitative Data Analysis in Scientific Research
Quantitative data analysis is a fundamental skill that helps students complete scientific research projects, theses, and other academic work. However, many students struggle to understand their data, select appropriate methods, and interpret results to meet scientific standards.
As part of its student scientific research workshop series, the HSU Office of Research Affairs – Science Journal hosted “Quantitative Data Analysis in Scientific Research”, aiming to strengthen students’ core understanding and hands-on abilities in analyzing and interpreting research data.
Designed with a hands-on approach, it focuses on helping students understand, apply, and accurately present their analysis results.
Distinguished speaker: Mr. Dang Hoang Minh Quan, M.A., Lecturer, the Faculty of Business, Hoa Sen University
With extensive experience in teaching and supervising a wide range of student research projects, he will present a structured and practical approach to quantitative data analysis, providing attendees with insights that can be directly applied to their own academic research.
WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS
- Identify data types and research variables quickly and accurately;
- Unlock the power of descriptive statistics in research;
- Learn scale validation techniques (Cronbach’s Alpha, EFA/CFA);
- Master essential analytical tools: correlation, regression, ANOVA, and SEM; and,
- Present findings confidently following scientific standards.
The workshop enables students to build a strong research methodology foundation, handle data with confidence, and elevate the quality of their academic projects.
