Talk show: Personal Data in the Digital Age: Privacy Protection Against Technological Risks

Every simple selfie, single tap on the “Allow” button to share location access, or the use of a free AI application can all serve as entry points for potential risks to personal data. As technology continues to advance rapidly, privacy is becoming more critical than ever before.

In an effort to offer a clearer perspective on human rights in cyberspace, the Faculty of Law, Hoa Sen University, in collaboration with Vietnam Law Newspaper (Ministry of Justice), is organizing a talk show under the theme:
“Personal Data in the Digital Age: Privacy Protection Against Technological Risks”.

The program will provide in-depth insights into four core areas:

1. Personal data as a component of human rights;
2. The current landscape of personal data protection in Viet Nam;
3. The applicable legal framework; and,
4. Policy solutions and recommendations in the context of digital transformation.

The program provides an opportunity for students, faculty, and the broader community to develop a comprehensive understanding of current technological risks while fostering greater awareness and capacity to safeguard personal privacy in digital environments.

With contributions from seasoned speakers representing government bodies, cybersecurity, and legal practice, the program is expected to offer diverse, current, and practically relevant perspectives.

2. Colonel Do Minh Kim, Deputy Head of the Office 3, Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) under the Ministry of Public Security;
3. Mr. Huynh Bao Long, Director, Huynh Nguyen Consulting Company Limited; and,
4. Mr. Nguyen Huynh Hiep, MA, Director of the Economic Law Program, Hoa Sen University.

The talk show is supported by six partners of the Faculty of Law, fostering the dissemination of academic values while enhancing the linkage between academia and professional practice:
