Korean Translation: The Intersection of Profession and Art
Interpreting requires more than just words; it calls for tailoring your speech to every context.
In interpreting, choosing the right way to communicate means blending accuracy, empathy, cultural fluency, and diverse expertise. But not everyone entering the field can immediately understand or embody all these elements…
Organized by the Faculty of Languages and Psychology, “Korean Translation: The Intersection of Profession and Art” is designed to help Korean Language Studies students uncover the realities of the interpreting profession through in-depth sharing from two accomplished guest speakers:
– Ms. Doan Thi Huyen Trang, Korean–English–Vietnamese Interpreter with over 15 years of experience in conference interpreting and intensive training programs across diverse fields, including healthcare, education, technology, high-tech agriculture, environmental studies, and international cooperation projects. She has worked with major organizations such as KOICA and Seoul National University.
MA. Ta Hoang Vy, Korean Interpreter and Tour Guide with more than 10 years of experience in tourism, trade, international exhibitions and trade fairs, as well as business networking events. She is also a former MBA student at Hoa Sen University.
Drawing on their extensive real-world interpreting experience, they will offer students practical and authentic insights into the interpreting profession, including:
– Essential skills, professional demeanor, and mindset required across different interpreting contexts;
– Real-life interpreting scenarios and effective techniques for managing communication and maintaining interaction;
– Career opportunities and development pathways in the fields of translation and interpretation; and,
– A live Q&A session, allowing students to interact directly with the speakers.
Particularly, attendees have the opportunity to receive very special gifts from the Korean Language Education Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
Register now to connect with professionals in the field, uncover the true nature of the interpreting profession, and design a clear and effective learning plan for your future.
