Psychology Student Wins First Prize at the 14th Student Scientific Research Conference
The 14th Student Scientific Research Conference, successfully hosted by Hoa Sen University, reaffirmed its commitment to building a dynamic and practical academic environment for students. At the event, Psychology students made a significant mark by winning the First Prize for the entire conference, along with several other high-quality, applied research topics.
A Quality Research Playground for Hoa Sen Students
As an annual prestigious academic competition at Hoa Sen University, the Student Scientific Research Conference underscores the university’s dedication to creating a dynamic academic environment that encourages students to develop critical thinking, independent research skills, and problem-solving abilities. The event attracted students from various faculties, including Finance – Banking, Logistics – International Trade, Marketing – Communications, and Law – Psychology.

From a large number of quality research papers submitted, the Scientific Council selected 10 outstanding topics for awards, including: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, and 4 Consolation Prizes. The topics not only demonstrated academic depth but also emphasized their practical application to social issues, showcasing the innovative spirit and research capabilities of Hoa Sen students.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tu Minh Thien, Vice-Rector, praised the serious research spirit of the students and the important role of their supervising lecturers. According to him, the conference is an opportunity for students to hone their analytical, critical, and creative skills—essential competencies for adapting to a competitive work environment. He encouraged students to value and make the most of these academic opportunities to expand their knowledge, develop their thinking, and enhance their research abilities.
Impressive Achievements by Psychology Students
At the 14th Student Scientific Research Conference, the Faculty of Law – Psychology made a strong impression with three outstanding, award-winning research topics in the field of psychology:
- First Prize: The topic “The association between parental burnout and adolescents’ outcomes: evidence from a two-wave longitudinal research,” conducted by students Phan Nguyen Lan Anh, Nguyen Gia Ky, Ngo Minh Thu, Ngo Nguyen Bao Tran, and Mai Tuong Van Uyen.

- Third Prize: The topic “How Parental Attachment, and Parenting Practices Link to Adolescents’ Disclosure: Insight From a Two-Waves Longitudinal Study,” conducted by students Phan Trung Chinh, Luong Nguyen Hong Hanh, Tran Thi Thu Huyen, Phan Vy Khanh, and Nguyen Nhat Minh.

- Consolation Prize: The topic “Media multitasking and university students’ academic self-efficacy in Ho Chi Minh City: The moderating role of academic anxiety and negative information attentional bias,” conducted by students Nguyen Thi Hai Trieu, Nguyen Le Huyen Tran, Nguyen Huu Ngoc Tran, Phuong Minh Thu, and Nguyen Xuan Vy.

These achievements demonstrate the research capabilities, serious academic spirit, and developmental potential of Psychology students. Each research project is not only an academic step forward but also a practical contribution to the community and sustainable development.
Through this, students have the opportunity to improve their research and critical thinking skills and enhance their sense of social responsibility—important qualities that will help them mature and successfully integrate in the future.
