HSU “Chinese Language Excellence” scholarship 2025–2026: Opportunity to Receive VND 50 Million in Support from the Consulate General of China
To encourage academic excellence and provide support for students majoring in Chinese Language, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh City has awarded the “HSU Chinese Language Excellence Scholarship” fund to students of Hoa Sen University.
The scholarship fund, with a total value of VND 50,000,000, will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements or those who face financial difficulties but continuously strive for excellence in their studies and university activities.

Number and value of scholarships:
Depending on the number and quality of applications, the Institute of International Education and Global Engagement (IIE&GE), in coordination with the Chinese Language Program, will review the applications and determine the number of recipients and the value of each scholarship.
Scholarship Categories & Selection Criteria
1. Scholarship for Students with Outstanding Academic Performance
Eligibility
- Full-time students currently enrolled in the Chinese Language major at Hoa Sen University in accordance with the official academic program.
Requirements
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale) by the end of Semester 2532.
- Conduct evaluation score for Semester 1 of the 2025–2026 academic year rated Good or above.
Priority will be given to students who:
Have achieved notable results in competitions, academic contests, or related academic activities (with supporting documentation).
Actively participate in academic, social, and extracurricular activities both within and outside the University (with supporting evidence such as certificates, awards, or photos).
2. Scholarship for Students with Financial Difficulties
Eligibility
- Full-time students currently enrolled in the Chinese Language major at Hoa Sen University in accordance with the official academic program.
Requirements
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) by the end of Semester 2532.
- Conduct evaluation score for Semester 1 of the 2025–2026 academic year rated Good or above.
Financial hardship criteria
Students facing financial difficulties such as:
- Orphaned students
- Students from poor or near-poor households
- Students from remote or disadvantaged areas
- Families experiencing unexpected circumstances affecting their financial situation
(Supporting confirmation from local authorities or relevant organizations is required.)
Priority will be given to students who:
Demonstrate strong determination and perseverance in their studies and life.
Achieve good academic results or actively participate in academic, social, or extracurricular activities (with supporting evidence).

Interview Round
Students who pass the application screening will be invited to attend an interview with the leadership of the Institute of International Education and Global Engagement and the Chinese Language Program for the final evaluation and decision-making.
